I cannot recommend the game at the present due to widespread performance issues regardless of hardware. It is frankly unacceptable that a game can release to near universal performance issues. I have enjoyed the content in the game to the extent that I can access it, but I fear that absent future optimizations, PC will simply not be an ideal platform for the game.

Despite everything the game was at launch and still is to an extent, no other game has lived rent free in my head than Cyberpunk. The gameplay is excellent, and scratches the itch for an open world RPG, but what I live for here is the story. To explain what makes it special would ruin the experience, but I can't say that I haven't felt more connected to a character than I have to V. Absolutely get it.

From what I have experienced so far, CK3 is a worthy heir to CK2's realm. Nearly every system feels more immersive and approachable. While you can still get lost in the UI,but it feels a lot more user friendly than before. While some of the systems introduced in CK2's dlcs are notably absent, such as societies, I overall think that this game is worth your time even if you own CK2+DLCs.

Note: The positive rating is discretionary. I justify my rationale below. I have played a couple hundred hours on Bethesda's launcher, so don't judge my steam hours. I will update if any of my concerns are addressed by Bethesda in a future patch. If there are any errors please let me know so that I can update the review so that it is as accurate as possible.

NOTE: The game is OKAY, but do not buy it at full price It is not worth $40.

I really wish steam let you put: "Maybe" as a review rating.

Before addressing issues I want to explain some of the things that I do enjoy about the game.

1. The CAMP system is a natural progression of FO4's Settlement system. If you enjoyed building in 4 you will likely enjoy it here. There are limitations on what you can do and unlike 4, you cannot build cities. The way you unlock blueprints is in some ways genius (world drops, merchant bought) and in other ways terrible (Atom Shop).

2. The world of 76 is amazing. I am a bit biased as I am a West Virginian native, but I must admit, they captured the tone of the landscape excellently. There are plenty of memorable locales mixed in with dungeons to delve and overall I can't say that I am unhappy with the map.

3. The endgame gameplay loop of 4 is present to an extent in the game. A lot of your time will go towards crafting stuff and finding scrap to craft stuff with, and finding new guns to later mod and break down so you can craft more guns.

4. The skill card mechanic is a cool system. I wish they did more than make most cards implicit upgrades over others but I like it for what its worth.

With that out of the way, let me break down some, but not all of my major concerns with the game.

Despite the inclusion of friendly human NPCs there are many huge issues that make the game less than idea in my eyes.

1. Bugs. They fixed alot but there are still some. Among others, the ones that bother me rest in the fact thatNPC animations still occasionally jam up and Loot tables are still wacky (Oh the raider I just killed was shooting at me with a plasma rifle, why is the only thing in his inventory a 10mm pistol?) This leads into section 2

2. The Sandbox. The game is framed as a true fallout survival game. A lot of it, like disease, food and thirst mechanics work. However, a lot of the core scavenging mechanics are draining and kinda irritating. Even with perk cards that increase your ammo drops, you will be running out of ammo often and easily. This is especially relevant as enemies begin to tank all forms of damage at higher levels, so melee builds are viable not because they are good, but because you don't waste ammo. The novelty of power fisting your way through hordes of robots wears off around the second dungeon when it takes upwards of 30 seconds to kill a single one. Further more, some weapons seem to do a weird amount of damage compared to others. I'll present a sample scenario below

You see a military chest that has a rocket launcher and a couple missiles. They are all heavy (missiles weigh about 10lbs each), so you decide to drop your current rifle (which weighs about 15lbs) and take the rockets so that you can deal heavy damage to a mutant boss. You fire the missiles, and they do about the same amount of damage as you could dispense in about 10 shots of your rifle, which fires cheap, light ammo. The scavengers economy says that we should drop the missiles and RPG and keep using the rifle we've had all this time. Its not interesting to find something insane like a plasma gatling because your first instinct will be to say: "well its a lot heavier and it will be easier to put damage out with my current gun."

I could go on, but for the sake of brevity, I would say the game is worth playing, but not for full price. Pick it up for 20$ and play with a friend or two. I hope that bethesda can turn it around but for now, the most I can give is a hesitant positive rating.

Excellent game. I've been playing since the launch of Forsaken and Y2 and the game has only gotten better. Sure, there is grinding, but once you get passed it, there are few games like D2. I have put over 600 hours in the battlenet version of the game, and I anticipate spending an equal amount of time in Y3.

Best game that I have played in a while. Hands down.

Take note that this is not an easy game. Its not Dark Souls, but I won't lie if it didnt feel like it at times. If are persistant, you will beat the game. If you are indominable, you will get all the endings.
