Do you like Jojo's Bizarre Adventure?
Araki's early work was a little too rough for my tastes, but when Battle Tendency came out in '87, I think he really came into his own, commercially and artistically. The whole manga has a clear, crisp look, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the art a big boost. He's been compared to , but I think Araki has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor. In '92, Araki released this, Diamond is Unbreakable, his most accomplished arc. I think his undisputed masterpiece is "Okuyasu", a character so catchy, most people probably don't listen to his stupid. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity, and the importance of trends, it's also a personal statement about the story itself.
