It's sick. Doesn't really play like an rpg, more like a bullet hell shmup kind of thing with free movement in 8 directions and 360 degree aiming via mouse click. Perma death. Real nice for such a simple game.

complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Just don't even.

It's kind of like if double dragon was an fps, and it was set in some universe which is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ outlandishly weird that it manages to make sense in it's own way. The fighting mechanics are quite unique and they feel intuitive but without sacrificing options. I haven't been as impressed by a melee fighting system since Mount and Blade tbh. The story is whacky and entertaining too. Be warned that most the gameplay is brawling against opponents. There's some shooting segments and a part which plays almost like a tower defence kind of thing without towers, but in my opinion the brawling mechanics are good enough to justify the game being mostly just that - brawling.
Even if you don't find it completely enjoyable, it's just too weird and unique of a game not to play through to see what it's like.

This game "feels" nice - The environment it sets you down in is kinda cool. Sound is incredible, some of the best in any FPS.
But the gameplay... Idk. Imagine if bf2 was slightly more like COD and had less stuff to do in general. If you're big into fast paced action-y shooters without too much "interference" from vehicles or long distances and a decent amount of teamplay this might be worth getting. If you prefer the slow paced, plan-every-move then you, like me, will probably tire of this after a week or so.

This game has most the cool things about cossacks, but with much more interesting and diverse factions to experiment with. It's way ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ harder than cossacks too. Despite the brutal efficiency of the AI, i'd call this one a favourite.

This really is the very same game it was in 1999. It's up to you whether you think that's a good thing.
