Within just 40 minutes of play time one of the main characters refers to a Black woman as "chocolate" and an Asian woman as "yellow fever - no yellow plague" and it is just gross racism. Absolutely no interest in continuing when this is how the characters you are attempting to connect with are treated.

I was gifted this game as I am a huge fan of Killing Floor 1. I am not a person that plays thousands of hours in one game. My highest hours played are often with Co-Op games like L4D2 with 229 hours as my most played game. So when I say I have played close to 90 hours in Killing Floor 1, I want you to understand that is actually a lot for me. I had maxed out the support class in KF1. I had been greatly looking forward to KF2 but was always low on cash to spend on the game. Since I was just gifted the game I was excited to boot it up.

Immediately I noticed problems. The game would often crash or take minutes to load. When the game would finally load in, the game could run on max graphics settings. Trying to play a solo offline game I noticed even more problems. There was mouse drift only when viewing iron sights. I attempted to fix the sensitivity settings, disabling any auto aim features, expanding my FOV, turning on crosshairs, etc. There continued to be mouse drifting only when using RMB for iron sights.

Another main issues was the weapon/head bob. Even in games like Minecraft I have to turn off the head bob because it makes me nauseous. There are no game settings to disable this. I tried searching the web for solutions and found that other people also had this problem and there was not even a way to edit an ini file to disable it. Apparently one of the gunslinger perks reduces head bob, so this is a "feature" that you can't disable at all. But again, I love playing support class, so I would have to suffer through hours of gameplay with the head bob playing a single class I don't enjoy playing, only to have it REDUCE head bob. That is awful accessibility. There is even a mod on the Steam Workshop, but enabling that Workshop item means you don't gain any XP while playing the game. This game has been out since 2016 and hundreds if not thousands of people have talked about this already online, so it is clear to me that the developers simply don't care about their player base and would rather people play it as "they intended" even if it excludes many other people from playing and enjoying their game.

The last nitpicky stuff is that playing in Solo Offline when the game ends in either Victory or Defeat, you have to sit through all the XP and level up stuff, you have to wait 50 seconds for a "map vote" when there are no other player. There are many unnecessary menus/tabs for a SOLO mode. If you win or lose, it should allow you to skip to the end of their calculations (much like PayDay 2 allows you to skip XP/Perks after a match). It should immediately take you to the map selection. It should allow you especially in SOLO to restart the same map or instantly choose a new map without the 50s of wait time. I could understand those "features" with Co-OP and online play, but for SOLO???? I want to play the game, not sit on the end screen for a minute before I can hop back into playing.

0/10 NEVER RECOMMEND
Just buy KF1 and play that

Skyrim does not balance Magic skills very well. I don't even care to play any more of this game ever.

I am the 100% completionist, can't move onto the next city/town until I complete all the side-quests ever. Which by the time I wanted to finally move on, I was forced to face a dragon before I could make it to the Mage's College with only novice skills. The game did not provide enough well rounded game play. If you are going to let someone be pure mage, you should balance the game for this or don't let them do it. Skyrim makes me rage more than any other game I have ever played. Which says a lot considering I remember Psychonauts circus baby chase level causing me to have an aneurysm. But I would rather chase that baby the rest of my life than waste another minute playing Skyrim. And don't tell me to just play Sword and Board. I DON'T WANT TO. Magic is cool. In every other game I play a healer/mage/support character. If you are giving me the option I will choose this every time. Don't make a game with the option and then make it so it is so unplayable they have to play sword and shield to even enjoy the game.

Loved it enough to buy and play L4D 2 for over 200 hours, so what do you think?

I would recommend just getting L4D 2 though since all the L4D 1 games are ported over.

My longest played game on Steam even though I haven't played it in the last 3 years or so. This combined with my play time in L4D 1 is 368 hours of play time. Both a great single player and multiplayer game with plenty of achievements. With Steam workshop now it continues to offer hours of fun.

I still haven't beaten this game once all the way through. I always seem to get to a certain point late in the game and mess up some relationship between characters. So I end up making a new character and playing all the way to the same point in the game only to screw it up again.

The real problem is the game is so addicting I don't realize I haven't saved in the last 6 hours and my auto save was too recent for me to correct the relationship mistake I made. So I end up making a new character instead of playing the last 6 hours over again.

I would still highly recommend even though I don't knwo the ending to the game. 150 hours as of writing this review and I still don't know how it ends.

The most trash game of all time. No joke.

If you enjoyed Mass Effect then prepare to be royally f-ed over. The combat system has completely changed as well as the HUD. The keybindings are completely new. I went straight from Mass Effect 1 into 2 and then took about 1 hour setting up the new keybindings to match the old ones. Visually buggy too. I had max settings on all my graphics and would come across lighting glitches regularly enough I would spend just as much time in the console as I did playing the game. You could walk into a new room and shadow people were every where. Or worse the people were invisible.

But let's talk about story shall we?
Mass Effect 2 took everything you loved about the first game and stole it from you. All the companions you spent hundreds of hours developing relationships with are not even playable in this one (except for Garrus and Tali which is the only reason I kept playing). Liara is out, which sucks because I was in a strong relationship with her in Mass Effect 1 and now she can't even rejoin the party? Wrex is gone too. What a bunch of bull. You are forced to play with new characters you have no concern for.

But then you reach the end of the game and they decide that their big reveal is that the main boss is a human reaper hybrid? Just dumb. The reasoning is dumb and the plot had little development.

A GIANT waste of my money and time.

Extremely fun game with lots of options and replay. Similar to a Fallout 3 game, but in space with a team strategy similar to Star Wars: Republic Commandos and Biowares later game Dragon Age: Origins.

The level up system is a little complicated and there are too many missions involving driving around aimless on some deserted planet. However the plot and solid combat make up for some of the more boorish elements.

Seriously my favorite game of all time. I have beaten this game so many times each with a variation of characters. Big Guns all negative karma, Unarmed & Sneaking all positive karma, Small Guns VATS only all neutral karma. Originally played on disk with Windows Live achievements until the disk was broke and I was forced to buy it on Steam.

Solid story with great voice acting and so many side quests you max out to level 25 long before you even need to finish the main story line. Lots of DLC with fun addon weapons too.

You seriously cannot go wrong with this game.

Buggy as hell. Crashes all the time. On first set up it took several hours of changing .ini files and downloading patches just to get it playable. Once I played it there was not much replay ability. The ending cut scene sequences go through every companion and faction in the game to tell you the state of affairs, but by this point I simply did not care any more. And you can't even skip it. I seriously had to wait through 10 minutes of cut scenes and narration at the end of the game for some story about the Great Khans gang; a story about Crimson Caravan; a story about the Brotherhood; and then about every f-ing companion you had join you (which you are prompted to get all of them for the achievement). Why would I ever want to play through and beat this game again if you can't even skip it? I was banging my fist against the keyboard to try and skip the awful narration I broke my space and shift keys. And then you can't even save the completed game and wander. You are forced to reload a save where you never beat the game.

Several companion quests were stuck uncompleted. I had Victoria in my party almost the entire game and when I had to visit HELIOS One the game would not allow me to complete her quest. Later "For the Republic" wanted me to deal with the brotherhood. But none of the diplomacy options were available because I couldn't finish Victoria's companion quest. The only way for me to finish the game was to slaughter them all--which is definitely not the choice I wanted. Your only option is to mess with the console commands and force certain quest statuses to change.

And this was after days of making a spread sheet so that I could best benefit from SPECIAL points, leveling the right skills, and choosing specific perks for the best play though of the game.
