Early Access Review
It's mindboggling that a game dev company can spend ten years painstakingly hashing out mistakes, flawed design philosophy, and pain-points with a loyal community only to then make a sequel that completely forgets all the lessons the first one learned. Perhaps they never did truly learn.

Moreover, many of us loyal fans of their first game supported the funding and development of this project under guise that it's development would never interfere with the game that we love. Another shallow promise.

Early Access Review
The first few hours of this game make you think "okay, I found my new time sink over Tarky", but after the new shine wears off you quickly realize that you'd be mad to want to continuously play this game. For a shooter focused on PvE, the AI is mindblowingly horrendous. From hit registration, to target acquisition, to seeing and shooting through walls and bushes, the fun of the game is heavily outweighed by the awful taste in your mouth dying to garbage AI over and over again.

I know it's early access and I hope to see the game grow and thrive, but I also had a very concerning interaction with one of the Devs already. I and several others were reporting a bug (projectiles being blocked by shrubs) to which the Dev passively dismissed it as "foliage can affect ballistic trajectory" and it wasn't until I gathered several pieces of video evidence that he even considered there could be a problem. Hopefully this is a one-off but I find it a concerning take from the developers in early-access stages to brush off bug reports like that.

Here is a small set of the massive amount of awful interactions I've had with the AI:
- AI snapping to you and staring at you if you ADS at them
- Headshots bouncing off of unarmored heads (5.56 AP)
- Shooting a single AI from 300m away and watching every AI within 100m of him look directly at me and begin shooting
- AI snapping to you and lasering you with 10+ rounds out of an iron-sights AK-47
- AI shooting you through walls without ever seeing you
- AI shooting you through dense foliage after retreating or repositioning
- AI taking upwards of 40 rifle rounds to die
- AI glitching through doors and killing you

The experience simply makes you feel like they don't play by the same rules as you do. For the arguments of "realism", they have to apply both ways and they simply don't. I could go on, but I will summarize the rest of my review.

Good:
+ Graphics
+ Firearm and tactical gear models
+ Large Map
+ Atleast 20 hours of quests
+ Grounded gameplay
+Faction System

Bad:
- Optimization
- PvP Incentive
- Helicopter System
- Key drops gating quests
- Awful desync and hit registration
-AI, as outlined above
-Servers

I would not recommend this game to anyone who has not played it.
It's a cancer that has only gotten worse the last few months with the new matchmaking system.
It takes hundreds of hours for one to be able to play the game at a basic level, one of the steepest
learning curves that exists anywhere.
You win and lose games based on how toxic the teammates are that Valve chooses for you 99% of the time.

But for those of us who have already played thousands of hours on this game, there is nothing like it.
Nothing will ever compare to the depth and brilliance of a game of Dota 2.
Every game in my steam library pales in comparison, and ever since I picked this game up a majority of my time
is spent playing it rather than other games.

Why?
Because that one game you do win, where your teammates speak English and play their roles properly,
and the spirits of everyone are lifted high, and the carry gets a rampage because his supports set up an
insane play, and you decimate an entire lane of towers and barracks in calculated moments, is the most
satisfying dopamine rush you'll ever experience. It's like a drug, that no other game can give you. It's
impossible to tell yourself that it's not worth putting yourself through the misery of playing with
stupid peruvians on US East every single day for the offchance that this perfect storm will happen.

So, my final word: Steam has you rate a game on whether your recommend it to others or not.
In this case, I must give it the thumbs down, but do not let that deceive you - this is the greatest
game ever created.

Young thug won't give me his toy blaster so I steal it from him and kill him with a beam of light called down from the sky. 10/10
