*UPDATE* Added roughly another 30+ hours since review. I still stand by what I say, this game is fantastic and the community is the least toxic I've encountered to date. Pretty wild and unexpected gem here; even got 3 of my friends to join in and they're having a great time.

It's rare that I actually find a game in the MMO genre to not be boring, but somehow, they've pulled off the impossible here with how well-balanced everything is. Seriously, all of the the game's systems are just done in such a way that I really don't even find them tedious. I'm enjoying every single thing I'm doing in this game, and it has WAY more to offer than what I've even scratched.

So long as the devs actually properly supports the game and the community, and doesn't turn to predatory practices in the future, I am likely to be a lifer for this one. Best free to play I've touched in well over a decade.

*UPDATE*

Early Access Review
I don't EVER write reviews, but by God, this is the most polished, playable, and content-heavy pre-alpha I've ever played in 20+ years on PC, and I sincerely await every Discord update from this dev team since picking it up.

It's what everyone else has already said, a co-op PvE Tarkov clone. Separate enough, but you'll definitely feel at home trying this out. Gameplay and content are both done extremely well for being so early on. If you manage your expectations, this title has a lot to offer even so early on.

Graphically, Incursion is absolutely gorgeous for its state. Sure, there's some rough spots and unrefined areas, plus some middling performance at times, but I've played plenty of games in the same phase of testing that don't even come close to this. Red River is one of the few titles, even be it a pre-alpha, that properly strains my 7900 XTX + 5800X3D combo at native 5120x2880 (S90PC). No setting is spared, running everything on full tilt Epic + Lumen + 100% resolution TSR. Just wow. Given some time on the artistic side of things with textures and FX, I eagerly await the final product just on this note.

I can't wait for all the updates to come and will be playing this -a lot- over the coming months. I have about 24+ hours at the time of editing this and I don't regret it one bit, even got two other friends to pick up the game who also thoroughly enjoy it.

Devs are impressively quick to respond and fix active issues, with 3+ hotfixes in less than a week. A far cry better than a lot of other devs I've experienced across all A+ ranges, that's for sure. For a small studio to keep up with the sheer flow of demands, suggestions, and reports, they're doing an awesome job.

I don't ever write reviews, but the devs earned this one EASILY. The hard work and dedication is bursting through the seams in all areas.

This is, without a shadow of a doubt, the best game I've played all year. Maybe even the last few years.

Do yourself a favor and play it!

Needs a lot of work, but shows promise. Is overall fun, but lack of variety makes for dull gameplay.

Excellent game witha lot of potential. I heighly recommend this game but be aware that it is currently in ALHPA, NOT BETA OR FINISHED. That being said, for a game that's in alpha, it has been superb. Very playable and very enjoyable. I can only imagine how much this game is going to rock once it's finished. Definitely worth the buy.

Game is excellent but takes some serious getting used to if you haven't played an action-fighting game before. Learning the Directional Parry System is KEY to being good at this game. Game play 8/10, mechanics, 9/10, fighting system, 9/10, story 9/10. Good overall game, worthy of the Metal Gear name.
