As a fan of Flight Simulators/combat games as well as the IP Star Wars, my opinion is going to inherently be quite biased. Though I will try and be to be as impartial as possible.

Pros:
- Establishes itself in a period of time that isn't already filled with content.
- Campaign plays out like the old school X-wing and Tie Fighter games.
- Combat zones can feel very tight and very open with scenery being placed quite well.
- Once over the learning curve, the nuanced controls make flying a joy.
- Encourages you to have great awareness of everything around you.
- First Person makes the young Haggamar squeal as it was always his dream to fly an X-Wing.
- Great variation between New Republic and Imperial Ships (for multiplayer and campaign you'll need to work out the pros and cons of both.
- Drifting

Cons:
- Steep learning curve.
- Campaign squad mates are a bit flat.
- Not being told to hit another key to drift (Keyboard and Mouse it is SHIFT key btw).
- Players leaving your game in Fleet mode because you get pushed back once.
- Players leaving your game because they got selected to play Empire and refuse to learn how to play a TIE fighter.
