Game is running well enough, averaging 30 fps (city with 100k) on a mix of low-medium settings with a 7700k and 3060 ti.

Reminiscient of Fire Emblem or Final Fantasy Tactics but soccer, great turn based strategy with decent amount of depth. Level up your players by gaining experience in matches and teach your footballers skills to help change the tide of the game! Train your players and raise their attributes (stats), dependent on what position you are using them. The game uses hidden dice rolls to determine what happens, Would definitely recommend to any TBS fan.

After 'playing' for about 4 minutes I feel I have seen enough to judge this game accordingly. I like the notion of a portion of the proceeds going to a humane society but I actually doubt that will take place due to the sketchiness of the dev.

Arcade mode and Jump mode are subpar flash games. After attempting to play those two my brain began to melt and I was unable to even figure out how to start the Puzzle mode. Pet mode and Cat Toy are both forgetable. All I remember is one was a knock off of Nintencats. However I set a 'high score' on Arcade Mode and got to World 2, so I guess you can call me the Project CATS Grand Master.

What stood out to me in the description was playing a game from the perspective of cats, the idea piqued my curiosity. As such comes the final mode, aptly titled Hunter mode. You play as a cat in first perspective hunting down mice in a room. This one actually looked alright and was actually fun for the 45 seconds I played it.

I would pay between 1 or 2 bucks for the Hunter mode alone, but with the ridiculous price of 29,99 it is impossible to reccommend. My refund is now pending.

This is by far my favourite Telltale game thus far. The world they have managed to create is enchanting with portions of mystery and intrigue. If you have enjoyed any other Telltale game then be sure to pick this one up. I could load this up any day of the week just to listen to the opening theme song!

NOTICE: this review is lengthy, if tldr, check pros/cons

In short, there seems to be a lot to look forward too for RCTW, however there are many tweaks that need to be made. That said, from what I see from forums, this game will not be as popular as the original trilogy because the coaster designer is much more complex to use than in previous itterations.

There are only 7 or 8 different coaster types currently present in RCTW and many classics from the second and even first games are missing. My guess is that additional coaster types will be offered via paid DLC, the thought leaves a bad taste in my mouth, but I can't think of another reason why certain 'cornerstone' rollercoasters such as corkscrew coasters aren't available already.

The 'innovative' Spline based coaster designer is an interesting take on coaster design, it works well if you plan on building a coaster without any inversions. However, as soon as you plan on including corkscrews, loops or any other inversion. You will almost instantly get frustrated. I found it extremely difficult to create straight lines of coaster track, perhaps because the track is always attached to your cursor before you place it, and while trying to move around simultaneously, the track quickly becomes twisted and messed up. There is a premade loop that can be used, however it does not look realistic and is way too steep. The other premade track piece is a 'vertical corkscrew'. Were the developers smoking crack when they came up with that one?

One of the only things that made me actually feel like I was playing a RollerCoaster Tycoon series game was when it came to choosing the colour design of the coaster. Perhaps this is because they did little to no innovation in this area, as none was needed.

I designed a hypercoaster in RCTW that seemed fairly successful in design, but the test statistics showed that the ride was hardly 'fun' at all. I know for certain that this coaster would've had atleast 5 excitement if I had made it with any of the original games.
It was impossible for me to judge the physics engine this game has because it was impossible to have the coaster running while maintaining a decent framerate. This, despite my computer exceeding the system requirements of the game.

There is no Options menu and there is no way to change the resolution, change graphics settings or even any audio settings. I yearn for the ability to mute the annoying music that comes on if you scroll out far enough. As well, the sounds that I am assuming come from the rollercoaster stations are really obnoxious and need to be changed. However this may work itself out as more features and other sounds are added.

Controlling the game is a bit of hit and miss, You move around the map with the arrow keys or WASD, I was unable to move around by dragging my cursor to the edge of the screen, something I think is critical for this kind of game.

There are a large variety of paths in the game and the system seems to be fairly fleshed out and competent.

All in all, if the developers manage a way to include a simplified coaster designer, in the vein of the coaster designer from the original games, I feel this game will see massive success. Aesthetically pleasing and once fully optimized, I will give this game another shot.

Pros
+decent graphics
+complex coaster designer
+painting coaster track
+fleshed out path system

Cons
-annoying sound design
-complex coaster designer
-limited amount of coaster types
-vertical corkscrew will haunt my dreams
-no corkscrew/arrow dynamics coasters
-coaster statistics function completely different
-poor optimization
-no options menu (albeit this is beta, would be nice to mute audio)
-moving around is awkward

What are you waiting for, start playing already!

2021 EDIT:

I do not recommend this game currently. It will stop loading and the only way to fix (verify integrity of game files) ends up deleting your progress (unlocked scenarios). Play RCT Classic instead.

Featuring a healthy mix of 4X and RPG, I find this, the original game in the series to be my favourite to this day. Perhaps it's because this game was a part of my youth growing up. I remember playing hotseat multiplayer games with 4 or 5 friends and being captivated for hours on end. To this day; albeit relegated to single player matches only, does still prove quite the enjoyable experience.

From an era before DLC, this game is jampacked with tons of lore, and a large number of factions to choose from outright. Featuring two lengthy campaigns and a multitude of scenarios, Age of Wonders is sure to keep you sated for hours on end. This truly was the first game I felt that "just one more turn" feeling that many people yearn for. Both the campaigns and the scenarios offer a lot of replayability, due to the choices you make in the campaigns, as well, via the numerous factions avaliable in the scenarios. Last thing to note is the beautiful music, one of the few PC games to my mind that features many memorable tunes.

Age of Wonders seems to run very well in 1920x1080 16:9 resolution on Windows 8.1. However, the game seems to crash if I Alt-tab.

If you are a fan of either 4X or RPG games I would definetely give this game a serious look.
