This is a classic case of a game ruining itself by releasing in early access. The game has a lot of potential. They absolutely nailed the atmosphere you'd expect from a game about the backrooms.

There are many glaring issues with the gameplay. Level Fun is borderline unplayable with 4 players. We figured out the strategy easily enough, but being able to string everything together for a successful run proved to be too difficult tedious and we ended up having the host go and beat it in solo so we could move on. It needs polishing, for sure.

The library level is also very tedious: many times we had 3 or 4 tapes left only for the entity to randomly kill us despite not making any noise. It's very RNG based. If he happens to walk in your direction and gets too close, you're done, nothing you can do. If you run away you'll make too much noise and he'll get you anyway.

Having beaten the levels, I have no desire to revisit this game even if more levels were added, which is shame. If this was released in a years time as a fully fleshed out game with polished gameplay and more levels, I would be able to recommend it.

I can't recommend playing this game in its current state. Wait for the full release.

Played when it first game out - was garbage.

Played 4 years later - is basically the game that was promised in 2016. Meaning it's very good now.

Having grown out of love of gaming, this game has revitalised it.

Such a fantastic experience. It feels like every level has had hundreds if not thousands of hours spent intricately designing every room of every building. Every road off every street.

The level design is probably the best i've seen in any game ever. Its astonishing how many ways you can find to complete a task. Countless times I was thinking 'Is this right? Is this how it's supposed to be done?', but once you realise that there are dozens of ways to complete every level, this feeling makes the game so much more enjoyable.

Every level has its own atmosphere, and it feels like the world is a real world. Every NPC seems to have a purpose, and the voice acting is top notch. The party level is one of the best levels in a game i've played for years, it truly is amazing.

It's hard to recommend this game now that the Battle Royale genre has come up with so many better games than this.

The summer it came out, I played this game for hours every day. It was a blast. But now the charm has gone, and Warzone is a much better game.

The game is so poorly optimised, it looks dated already compared to other BRs, and the guns are boring and dull.

Don't buy this. Go and download Warzone for free.

Be good with a sniper or get angry trying to use one.

It's like the original but with new voices and a different story.

I dont even mod but what they've done is ridiculous. I recommend not buying this game until they do something about it. Don't support a publisher that does something like that.

I really wanted to like this controller. I got it for mainly GTA and Witcher, but, it just doesnt feel right. Its uncomfortable too, i find my right hand curling up after holding the trigger for a while. I'll stick to keyboard and mouse.
