Pretty good game.

You can definitely see the improvement in art, animation and antagonism from STASIS and Cayne. Which is a great sign of the developer working hard to make better games. I'm also glad they didn't repeat the claustrophobic horror style from previous game and tried a beautiful open exploration style. But for this kind of game I would like to have seen a more satisfying ending and not the karma system they implemented.

The game is a must for sci fi fans of the weird who enjoy a slow paced game of choices and exploration. But if you're looking for a fast paced action RPG, this is not for you!

I hope the developer keep working on these unique games and we see more of them out there.

Pretty good game!
I made the mistake of playing on normal mode so after a bit of repeating a few dungeons I've managed to put my family members above the difficulty level and mid to late game became quite easy. I didn't even had to grind.
All the characters are pretty fun to play as, with the exception of Joey. Favorites being Kevin, John and Mark. If you are not familiar with this sort of game I suggest playing all of them to level 5 and then focus in 2 or 3 characters. John and Linda seem to be the easiest ones to play.
The artwork is beautiful and the story is very cliche but it's fine for a non-ambitious game like this.
The rogue-like trait is there in the game, but it's not -that- rewarding playing again like other titles out there. Still a fun game, worth the price and that's why I recommend it.

Don't expect a spectacular game with a lot of depth. But for what it is, it certainly did its job!

I found it quite fun, more than I even thought I would enjoy. You can even play it in a fast pace, which helps a lot when you're just moving around and getting things done in the map.
The length is perfect, I wouldn't want it dragged much longer. The story is very simplistic, which is fine for this game.
Yet, it still is quite charming and its denizens curious figures. The artwork is great.

The balance could do a bit of work, but since it's not a competitive online game, who cares? The only bad mechanic I found was the caravan. For the difficulty it is to get it done, it does surprisingly little and it's finicky, often I think it's working but it's not... Super super weird. The caravan is definitely something I hope the devs work on.

All in all, it's a great fun little game that I quite enjoyed and recommend playing.

Super short.
Plot and dialogue extremely poorly written.
The walkie-talkie/pod conversations are insufferable and simply drag the gameplay.
Useless/Click-on-the-right-spot "puzzles".

As an avid point-and-click gamer I found this one of the worst I've ever played, no idea how there are so many good reviews.

The early and mid game are super fun and unique with a great atmosphere. But the end is such a grindfest chore... You don't even care about the graveyard or the activities anymore, just to finally get the tasks over with and finish the main quest. They should heavily reduce the grind required towards the last stage of the game.

All in all it's still fun and I'd like to see more.

Unlike most people I found the humor and story very cringe-y.

But the gameplay is good and quite challenging. Finishing it gave me a sense of achievement.

Early-Access-Rezension
Yet another kickstarter-backed game that is abandoned and unfinished.

Another example why you shouldn't fund kickstarter games nor buy early access...

This is the best isometric RPG I've played since Planescape Torment and Baldur's Gate 2. I was expecting something much more fight-oriented (although sometimes it really was) more aligned to Divinity Original Sins but in fact the storytelling was very very impressive and painted the world perfectly for me who didn't have knowledge of Pathfinder lore.

Difficulty:
I played in challenging and I had two major difficulty spikes, one in the very beginning, with low level characters there's not much you can do in your character build and RNG has a much higher impact. The second spike I had near the end of the game, some permanent debuffs were getting annoying to deal with, things like the mandragora swarm draining attributes ugh... The difficulty was in general fine for me as I did a vast amount of research to find the right companions for my party and proper builds. For anyone starting, crowd control spells such as grease, web, stinking cloud will carry you through as long as you focus on high DC.

Story:
The storytelling is great, you get a sense of the Powers of the world, the pacing is pretty good and you are constantly reminded of regions, deities, worlds until you familiarize yourself with the setting. I also got a lot of feeling that there are plenty of references of famous characters from Pathfinder stories. I really hope they make this story of the game canon. And there's just so much more to explore that I hope there will be future games of this series.

Time in game and length of gameplay:
I'm quite satisfied that the game is long, although I'd like certain parts there were just too many fights in every other room. I know a lot of people complained about the campaign and many quests being time-sensitive. Myself, I feel anxious and get a level of stress when I can't explore every corner and nook at my own leisure but it did feel more immersive and drove me forward to fix the Stolen Lands. I somehow learned to appreciate the urgency of a RPG in a situation like this.

Pricing:
Definitely worth it. Even in my currency it was accessible! But I only really suggest the DLC Wildcards from the ones that were released at the time of this review.

Music:
Amazing, for a sample of the quality I suggest listening on youtube one of many good tracks such as "Kingmaker - Canvas For The Gods"

Voice Acting:
Top notch, just wished there were more lines voice acted.

Art:
Amazing art work! The First World is a beauty on its own, but the crypts are crazy good and the creatures and animation breathtaking! Kudos to the Crag Linnorm and Boulette.

Multiplayer:
Unfortunately, no multiplayer. If they had a multiplayer and allowed servers and the levels of customization of Neverwinter Nights this game would be a dream come true. But it will never happen.

I highly suggest anyone who loves RPGs to play this game. My suggestion is just to do a bit of research on how to build and play their characters, otherwise I can see a lot of frustration coming. Also, if you find it too hard just reduce the difficulty, no shame and you don't lose any content by doing so!

I can finally get my RPG fix playing online on nwn servers.

For those who are mainly buying for the base game, hoping for a lot of improvements you will be very disapointed, as Beamdog hasn't delivered much. And a lot of the old bugs that really bothered me are still in the game.

If you enjoy a lot of RP I suggest Arelith server. Very balanced, high quality server and great community. Very active and constantly improving.
