Game is very rough around the edges. Not nearly enough content to warrant the price tag. It's basically room based Vampire survivors with a attack, and jump button with a 20$ price tag.

I think the fact that this game is so cherished is fooling people into accepting this god awful port. I'm sure this game is great if you simply look at the game itself, but that doesn't excuse the many negatives this port has. You're paying full price for a game that's been out for years so you should expect more.

- Denuvo

- No ultrawide support, and after changing from fullscreen to borderless the game black screened, and forced a hard reset of the PC.

- There's absolutely no control over any of the graphic settings, you get 2 AA options, high/med/low graphical options, vsync, and that's it.

- There's no analog support for menus, or even combat menus, so I hope you like the d pad.

If they were charging 20$ for a half ass port of the game, then fine I could overlook these issues, but they're asking full price for this horrible PC port, and I think that's unacceptable. If you're cool with that, and just love the game so much you are willing to deal with it then I'm sure your mind is already made up, but I'm not cool with companies milking a fan base.

60$ isn't an acceptable price for a frame rate increase on a several year old game.

Art style is cool, big Giger fan, but 5 minutes into the game I can tell it's a maze of monotony. Not really interested in running around solving vague puzzles in visually identical hallways for 8 hours. Interactive objects all look the same, and trying to navigate, or map out the layout in your head is next to impossible. It's one thing telling stories with environment, and letting the player figure stuff out on their own. It's another to just leave all explanation, and guidance out to artificially lengthen the experience.

SERVER ISSUES:
You'd think after all the time this game has been in early access that they'd be prepared to launch the game with minimal efforts. Game is fun, but the servers haven't been up for more then 12 hours since launch, and there's no communication on ETAs.

MAP ISSUES:
Game play wise the game is fun, and enjoyable. I have some gripes with the game though. Some quests just don't have markers, and it seems to be just random. There's different islands, each is it's own map, and on each island there are named areas. Some quests refer to a certain area, and that'd be helpful if you could actually view a full world map, but you can only view the map for the current Island you're in. This is made even more frustrating by the lack of travel options on the islands. There is only one airship (what you use to travel between islands) per island. Then on each island there are other layers you need to travel to, but since you can only view the map you are currently on you have to either remember all the names (not easy with the names they give areas), look up a guide, or aimlessly wander around until you figure out where you need to be. Considering this is a game with random encounters this makes it all the more frustrating.

QUEST ISSUES:
Some of the quests are really long, and text heavy. Lots of running around the map to talk some more. Going from one end of the map to the other, and onto another island, all the way to the end of it. The Map issues this game has means you'll be spending a lot of time just walking around. It feels like a cheap way to make the story longer then it needs to be, and isn't immersive. This is a monster collection game, not Death Stranding.

BUG ISSUES:
I've also ran into quite a few bugs. I've been stuck in a loop of a trainer battle ! encounter starting, they say their line, but then the battle doesn't start, and they repeat the line. The only way out of this was to smoke bomb bringing me back to a checkpoint, but if I didn't have a smoke bomb I would have been forced to Alt+F4. I've also run into an interface bug where after using a potion i can't back out, and have to Alt+F4. There's also a severe, and consistent stutter when loading into areas where the map takes a long time to render into the game.

MONETIZATION ISSUES:
There is a Battle pass, and in game cash shop. I don't like this in a full priced game, but it's 2022 so i guess it's not a surprise. What I HATE about this is that they're offering this battle pass day one, and you have to finish THE FULL story before you can even do daily/weekly challenges! That's extremely frustrating especially since there's nothing even warning you about this fact until after you buy it, and wonder why you aren't making any progress.

CONCLUSION:
This game has potential, and despite it's issues it's enjoyable, but I really don't recommend buying it until they iron out the issues it has, because it will frustrate you. It's disappointing considering I've been playing since early access released, and they still haven't ironed out some of these things. It still feels like a beta, and it needed more time. Hopefully they wont abandon it, and I can come to change this review.

Not as good as the first. Boring story, repetitive quests, and some impossible bonus objectives. Controller scheme is whack, and you have no options to change it. couldn't make it through the 3rd area due to how bored I was. Once you play one area, you've played the whole game. Don't buy this unless you're a die hard fan. As someone who 100% the first I don't think I'll be able to bring myself to finish this one. One of the most fun aspects of the first is the saucer combat, and it's almost non-existent in this game.

While I do recommend checking this game out if you're interested I would wait for a sale (As I did). The game is fun, and the only bug I ran into was a stuttering issue that was fixed with a google search, and a change of a graphical setting.

Combat isn't groundbreaking in the least, nor is the story, or anything else about the game to be honest. Don't buy this if you're expecting a game of the year. Lots of repetitive filler content, and side quests are not that engaging.

It might sound like I dislike this game, but that's far from the case. It's entertaining as a game should be. It's kept me playing, and wanting to finish it. I just don't think it's worth the full asking price. As I got it for half off I feel like I've gotten what I paid for. Just don't go into it thinking you're gonna be blown away.

I've never felt such empathy, and emotional attachment to a video game character.

I'm only a few minutes into the game...

Game has the worst control scheme I've ever seen. There's no controller support either. It's a shame too, because the game looks decently fun, but I'm not spending the time to fix the controls. Refunded
