As someone who has never had prior experience to any of the Resident Evil games, this was an amazing great to start off the series. I had never really gotten into any survival horror games, and so the first few hours playing the game was a struggle. Prior to playing this game, I've heard about the reviews of the game, and for the most part the reception of the game was pretty positive. So for me, I'll list a few of the pros and the cons that I personally felt while playing this game!

Pros:
- Amazing atmosphere
- Amazing graphics
- Great feeling controls
- Great story-building

Cons:
- The second run was a tad disappointing
- Some of the map layout (the sewers) felt confusing to view

For my pros, the game personally for me (especially on the first run through blind) was incredibly terrifying. Walking through the lonely and dark halls of RPD had a psychological horror aspect to it, and a few of the creatures that lurked around those halls made it that more intense. As someone who doesn't typically play single-player games, seeing the great attention to detail anywhere you went was a great spice. It really added to the overall atmosphere and I appreciate the amount of effort that was put into each layer of the game. The story of RE 2 fascinated me and actually led to me watching and reading the different aspects of the RE universe, and so it's thanks to this game for captivating me into the narrative.

As for cons, the biggest con for me was the second run of this game. I was very excited to see how Leon and Claire's stories would play out considering that they are supposed to happen simultaneously; however, I was met with disappointment when I realized that (with the exception of the beginning) the second run was basically the exact same as the first run through. I wish there had been moments where you can see how Leon's story impacts how Claire's story goes. I did read that Capcom weren't planning on a B route, and only did so because of the backlash they received; however, if you're going to do it, do it right.
