I still have the original Sins of a Solar Empire box in my closet from 2008. Played so much of this.

So perhaps I'm biased, it isn't that drastically different of a game but many of the changes are welcome improvements that change the game for the better. Graphics, mechanics, everything is improved. You could argue, as of right now, the amount of content isn't superb. I know some DLC and other content is coming in the future and I look forward to it. I recommend it for fans of the original, and fans of RTS space based games. I wouldn't call SoSE2 a true 4X but it is 4X-lite.

8.5/10 - If you're a fan, buy it. If unsure perhaps wait for a sale but I still heavily recommend checking it out.

It's nothing super special I don't think personally, but it's very fun with friends. We just goof off and sneak around and do missions I haven't paid any attention to the story we just run around having fun. Kinda a sandbox to just shoot and vehicles in with ur friends.

8/10 - buy it on sale and play with friends I spent like $20 for deluxe no ragrets

The way the game encourages you to play through the different modes and try different units to unlock different things and I think that is awesome. There's no lack of content at launch. Love to see it, these days games release with half broken features. I haven't even jumped into the multiplayer yet as I'm getting used to the game but so far the single player missions I have done (tried a bit of each) have been all a blast.

I've seen a lot of negative reviews, online only which the devs are supposedly working on allowing single player offline, great. If it's that big of a deal then don't buy it that's cool but the game itself is awesome fun.

TL;DR
+Awesome Graphics/Effects
+Tons of content, both single and mp, dynamic campaign, scripted campaign, PVE even.
+USSR, Germany, USA at launch with a deep roster
+Runs extremely well even and feels modern and responsive
+AI seems fairly competent if not outright hard.

-Some key missing units, NO Katyusha AKA Stalin's Organ?!??!? (hope to see added)
-Path finding especially for vehicles is atrocious. Expect to be manually controlling vehicles often.
-Voice acting is atrocious. Seriously I could have done a better job and I work for cheap BLYAT
-The audio on some of the small caliber weapons leaves a lot to be desired, overall audio is great however
-Online Only (as of launch devs say offline singleplayer is coming)

As an RTS, particularly WW2 RTS nerd I recommend this at $40 and certainly so on sale. If you aren't super into RTS or the WW2 stuff maybe not so much.

Toryama's impact on JRPGs and culture in general is something that is hard to even put into words. RIP to the legend.

One of my favorite games of all time. Google Max Payne Fix and you'll find a ~500mb fix that will support modern resolutions and systems, wish they could build that crap into the game but I got one of my childhood all time favorite classics for $3 so can't complain too much I guess.

11/10. Atmosphere is unrivaled. Amazing story. I beat it 50 times growing up for a reason.

Diablo but Warhammer 40k. Is it the best ARPG ever? No. Is it the worst ARPG ever? No. You probably won't get it much unless you enjoy purging Xenos for the Emperor.

I got the game on sale with all the DLC and it was worth it. Full price? Maybe not.

Really fun 3 player team game. Randoms don't play the objective so good luck if you're alone. Needs some balance but for launch I am having a blast, and it's free. Only $ is for cosmetics. It's a blast. Completely destructible environments, light class go fast, medium class heal go kinda fast, heavy class no fast at all but rockets go boom. 9/10

Not for me. I do not like how insanely difficult the game is on even the easiest difficulty. I miss the majority of my attacks even with 60+% rolls. It's worse than XCOM where you miss your 90% shots. I get some people like the depth and whatever but I find the game more annoying than anything. My characters get stuck all the time. The camera gets stuck all the time. The graphics are not that great, not bad but absolutely melts my 3090 and the look of the game does not justify it. If you like this kind of stuff fine but I pass. 3/10, you can talk to squirrels and bears and ♥♥♥♥.

Amazing. Cheap. Small file size. Will run on potato. Tons of maps and weapons, completely destructible maps. Buy it.
