Nice little puzzle/adventure/parkour game with a unique concept and great art style. The difficulty is not too high and you can solve all puzzles relatively quickly, hence the play time of only 5h (many people did it in 4h).

Because of the short play time I would recommend to wait for a sale, or pick it up in a Humblebundle like I did. Overall I give this one a 7.5/10

I discovered this in my library one day and to my surprise it was quite enjoyable. Not sure how and when I got it, maybe I lIked the art style, which is one of this game's biggest strengths. The controls are alright, as some other reviews mentioned, they could use some polishing but I think all levels were doable, yet never felt too easy. The soundtrack isn't bad, but it's kind of repetitive, which reminded me of the old super mario bros games. The gameplay at times felt more like a super meat boy - near the end there were part's where I had to retry many times (and would've appreciated a playback of my failures, like in super meat boy).
Either way, it's a pretty good game. Unfortunately I did not get to finish it, as it randomly reset my progress as (or maybe because) I was doing the last level. This is a shame because I never completed it as a result, and feels like something that QA should've caught.

Overall I give it a 7/10

It's a fun game but unfortunately a little too short. I hope they make a Part 2 that is at least double, ideally triple in size compared to this one. As it is, it's quite short so I would not recommend to buy it for 18,99€, my advice is to pick it up on sale if it ever reaches the 5€ mark. I got it for free from a friend, so I don't feel any buyer's remorse... (thanks David :D)

It's a pretty decent game.

Not as buggy as it's reputation suggests, though I did encounter a few bugs they were nothing major. I liked the little historical details and overall its a nice replica of Paris during the revolution. What annoyed me quite a bit were the controls, which felt quite clumsy on keyboard. I sometimes felt like the character went everywhere except where I wanted him to go. The story is just okay, nothing mind blowing, a typical Assassin's Creed story (get revenge, kill the bad guys, win over the girl). I also enjoyed the detective missions and searching for clues. With that said, most missions in the game are basically the same: steal object from person or assassinate person, with only the setting changing and some cut scenes. Besides story and missions I should mention that there is a ♥♥♥♥ ton of collectibles sprinkled all over the map. If you complete just the main story and side quest you will barely reach 40% completion.

Overall I give this game a 7/10.

I didn't understand the story, but I don't think it mattered

Greedy devs, milking a game late in its life cycle by releasing additional dlcs not included in the season pass

I think this title continues where the previous game left off, but I'm not entirely sure because it has already been a few years since I played that one. Therefore some of the characters in the story and the setting I had to relearn or often I didn't get some references. The side missions often seemed copy/paste and did not seem to have any impact on the story or the open world. The ending of the story felt quite sudden and could have had a little more build up. It feels like they deliberately left some questions open with it, so that they can create another Mirror's Edge game down the line (which 7 years later has not happened yet).

Compared to the previous title, the handling or movement also feels a little clunkier and there seems to be an additional focus on combat (and feels a little unnecessary in my opinion). As you progress through the game you get skill points which allow you to unlock new running and combat techniques.

The open world has a unique-to-the-series style which I quite like. With the open world they also added collectibles and challenges, although you never really need to do any of them to progress in the story. In order to complete most of the challenges you will need to have some skills which you will only get later in the story, making it almost pointless to try and beat them before finishing the story.

All in all it's a solid game, although I spent more time "getting into it" than actually enjoying it. If you haven't played the original Mirror's Edge you should play that one first. 7/10.

To me this DLC just feels a little lazy...

There has already been a "rallye" kind of mode in the base game, and except for the addition of track notes displayed on the screen (I never had to look at them) and a helicopter flying around this is nothing different. Supposedly there is a co-pilot informing you about the track, but for me he only felt like talking in some of the races.

There are a few new cars, but personally I don't care about most them, except for the F-150 Lightning. To me it's just a shame, that Lancia, Alfa Romeo and Fiat/Abarth are still not available in the game and no announcement has been made regarding why (1+ year since release). This DLC would've been the perfect opportunity to reintroduce the Stratos and Delta Integrale.

The map is visually pretty, but not too big. Playground Games must have been aware of this, which is why they set up achievements for doing each race in the rallye mode and a standard race mode (like the dirt races in the base game), so you can effectively do each race twice. If you don't care about completing the game / completing all challenges, you might already be done with this DLC in ~5h.

All in all, it's not really worth 20€. Since I have the season pass, I'm fine with it, as I already put plenty of hours in this game and got my money's worth that way - but by itself I might not have bought it.

At least it's not another Lego DLC...

A worthy successor to FH4.

After about 50h of playtime i completed most of the default "singleplayer" races and most speed traps etc. I still have about 50% of the "stories" left and hundreds of challenges and things I can still collect. It's clear that they tried to put a heavier focus on the multiplayer aspect of the game, by making it easier to invite strangers to a race and join a lobby. The general scheme of the game stayed the same, it seems they focused on improving upon the previous game, than trying to make crazy changes, which worked well. They do seem to have gotten rid of competitive multiplayer though (or I didn't find it yet).

Unfortunately Alfa Romeo/Fiat are gone due to licensing issues (thank you Stellantis), which is a shame, but they might be added back later like Mitsubishi and Toyota were in the previous title. With that said, this is still probably the biggest car inventory of any new racing game on the market. The audio of the cars (which was a big complaint of the previous title) has noticeably improved, though it depends on the model.

The map is very large and has many unique areas to explore. Finally there are some long straight roads to max out your cars, but there are also many bends and turns to make for some good races. It's also much bigger than Scotland; after my current playtime I've been to every corner but still don't know every road. I spotted a few visual bugs here and there, but nothing that annoys me too much (floating fences and so on). The graphics are just like the previous title -- amazing, just look at the screenshots.

The soundtrack is okay, some songs I like and some I don't. In my opinion it could be bigger and have more variety for a game whose setting is a Festival. Sure, you can always have Spotify or some other thing playing on the side, but it won't be as well integrated. Also, if you turn the sound off, it will stay off (even after you restart the game), unlike the previous title.

Overall I recommend this game, if you're looking for an arcade racer with a lot of stuff to explore. I bought it for ~50€ on sale which is fine, for what it offers. (I always try to keep my games below 0,50€/h of playtime and I'm pretty confident I can reach 100h in this one without getting bored.) I probably missed some things in this review, just because there's so much to this game, but for now that's all I have to say.

Update 11/2022: The game has enjoyed regular content updates, same as the previous title (if not better). Each update introduces new-to-the-game or new-to-the-series cars and sometimes even new stories, hence I nominated it for the "labour of love" award.

Update 11/2023: The game is still receiving regular updates that consist mostly of new cars. What pissed me off a little though, was the fact that they sell a "car pass" and then 2 years later they release DLCs that are not included in the car pass. I can imagine it's late in the game's life cycle and they want to squeeze some more money out of it...

Update 11/2024: Somehow this game still keeps going, and I got to respect the Developers for still providing free new content (of varying quality) on a regular basis. It's fair to say at this point I am only playing this game once or twice a week to get the update contents. With that said I am really hoping FH6 will be announced in the coming months...
