Enjoyable survivors type game. I enjoy the art style, and I could see this being a good intro to the genre.

Early Access Review
Fun survivors style game; just like VS and others, it may feel like it starts out a bit slow but once you get a few unlocks, the game takes off and you can make some extremely fun (and broken) builds. The part I enjoy is that you can create thematic builds that actually work, all fire or ice abilities, poison, bombs, etc. Has a high degree of replay-ability in that regard.

Simple at first glance, fun game with a good bit of depth once you start in on it.

Faithful and true to the original, enjoyed the game greatly. Granted I play both the original and remake as a packrat but that paid off in both worlds. The graphics, sounds, and gameplay felt like a great nod to the games of yesteryear, and in a good way (as you can tweak the difficulty for various aspects fairly easily). If you enjoy survivor/horror or anything scifi with a touch of cyberpunk, you'll enjoy this.

Hasn't aged well, so take my review with that (as I am a relative latecomer to the game, and I loved Megaman/Rockman when I was a kid, first game I rented was Megaman).

I'm going to get a lot flak for this, but there are several things issues that make this game less than fun to play. Esc key closes the game... if you hit this out of reflex (as most games don't do the f5/59 thing) to get to the menu when you've clearly screwed up, whoops closed the game. No auto-save after finishing a level; this one really burns me as I might forget to go to manually save, I'd beaten 3 bosses when I accidentally hit esc and had to redo them again; yes maybe this is a me-issue but yeesh this moves levels from being fun to "oh boy this nonsense... again?" for me.

Customizing controls frustratingly opaque (I've not figured out how to customize controls on an xbox360 or xbone controller on pc... maybe I'm dense). Screen resolution locked to 1080.

I've enjoyed Destiny 2 off and on since it came out and Lightfall feels like we were given half of the content of a DLC, especially for the cost. The story is abrupt, especially compared to Witch Queen. The increased HP and damage of enemies is extremely annoying, steering you away from a lot of weapons and builds if it isn't gimmicky (heavy ammo spawn) unless you have an exceptional degree of patience. I really want to like this DLC and I've really enjoyed Destiny 2, but this had been a pretty big let down and I cannot recommend it, even for people that really like D2.

Visually, the 40k feel is great: lots of gold filigree and gothic architecture right next to piles of trash and dead mutants. Everything is worn and grimy, and the sounds and music further add to the atmosphere.

Worst issues I've encountered were some odd animations, ogyrn repeating the downed animation sequence, one or two dead mobs repeating their death animation and some gunfire animations desyncing, but really these felt minor. Nothing game breaking encountered at all, and that includes any salty players, people thus far have been very civil, but that could change at the higher levels (still only a nublet). I am hoping future DLCs will add tyranids, orks, etc, because so far I am pretty impressed.

TLDR: Enjoying the game, no issues, and the other players seem great so far.

Enjoyable beat game, definitely DEFINITELY spend time with the settings to adjust the timing or you'll hate yourself.. I found the environments, weapons, and music all enjoyable. Made me imagine if you put Doom, Darksiders, and Crypt of the Necrodancer into a blender. It's by no means perfect (playing with a wireless xbone controller would be finicky until I moved the dongle), and some may not like the music.

Great roguelike, but definitely difficult. One of the few roguelikes that feels less frustrating even if you're kind of terrible at it (like me).

It could have been good, there was so much potential wasted here. There's a lack of communication, and what little communication there is on Steam is about things like "balancing," which seems to translate into breaking anything that's fun or lets players progress, fixing one thing only to break two or three more things, and ignoring adding new content or even fixing what content there is. All the while the larger playerbase is ignored only to have PCF react to an tiny fragment of players as though the sky was falling.

I loved how the guns handled, and the skills were fun, but the continual breaking of mods, skills, and classes is just too much when there are so many other games to play out there. I'm mostly frustrated at the wasted potential, but I should've been wary when Squenix has had a pattern of bizarre behavior on the pc (DX series is just one example).
