The factory’s garage door hissed as it slowly gaped to reveal a darkness deeper than the Void. Two cubes of burning yellow light flashed in the shadows, followed by a sputtering, mechanical growl. Charlie popped a fat cigar as he revved his Hellion recon vehicle and played Wheels of Fire from his Judas Priest CD. “Hell yeah !” he shouted as he took off from the factory and raced into the wilderness in search of bugs to squish. His foot was unrelenting to the pedal as he raced to enemy territory. “Livin’ in overdrive!” he screamed as he rotated the flamethrower atop his assault vehicle to point towards its posterior end, firing and further accelerating his death machine. The Hellion became like a shooting star, streaking across the plains in a furious conflagration that left ravenous flames in its wake.

In mere seconds the Zerg base was in Charlie’s sight. His vehicle surged onto the violet sludge surrounding the organismal constructs and made a sharp turn towards a collection of clear crystals protruding from the ooze. Halting the Hellion with ease, the Terran driver glared at his quarry with disgust. A dozen Zerg drones were snipping pebbles of minerals off the greater stalagmites, and carrying their cargo to the living headquarters. Most of the workers were enthralled by their genetic instinct to harvest, yet one diminutive drone was able to notice the invader after it broke off a mineral shard. The flamethrower above the Hellion’s compartment rotated and pointed downwards to the small Zerg. Fearing for its life, the drone lifted the crystal above its visage as a shield, hoping to endure the attack.

A torrent of flames lashed out from the weapon’s nozzle and engulfed the hapless worker. Charlie puffed a cloud of smoke from his mouth and smirked. The other drones were alerted and looked to where their sibling once lay. When the inferno subsided, they saw naught but ash. The Zerg’s flight instincts took hold, and the laborers spread in various directions. Charlie made pursuit and followed a group to a distant mineral stalagmite that they huddled around for dear life. The Hellion effortlessly roasted the Zerg in a single blast of scarlet power. Scanning the battlefield for new targets, the vehicle’s driver noticed a single drone tossing free soil above itself, a large distance away. Charlie took the wheel and raced to the drone, its body becoming less and less visible as it burrowed.

The assault vehicle came within a short distance of the defending worker. With a few yards to spare, Charlie readied his flamethrower as he hissed, “I’ve got you now!” Suddenly, Charlie was thrusted forward in the compartment of his transport, his forehead butting the steering wheel. He rubbed his sore cranium to see the windshield coated in a disgusting green ooze. He panicked as he pressed his boot to the metal, yet all his Hellion did was dig itself into the sludge; he was effectively glued in place. “♥♥♥♥,” he hissed as he tried desperately to reverse his prized war machine out of the muck. Just as he felt the Hellion rise from where it once was, a horrendous, keratinized dagger punched through the ceiling of the compartment.

The startling penetration frightened Charlie, and he accidentally swallowed his cigar. He gagged as the still smoldering bud filled his esophagus with smoke. Suddenly, the vehicle he occupied rocked back and forth furiously, his head butting both ends of the compartment with each turn. “Snoot save me!” Charlie managed to gasp before his neck had snapped in a particularly fierce jolt, mercifully ending him. On the outside, the Derp-festor toyed with the Terran contraption and its master, making spitting sounds in the process. Eventually it grew bored and rammed the car into its base until it was a crumbled pile of metal. The Derp-festor simply stared at its broken toy, and nudged it with a single leg.
