Even decades later this game is still great. The UI isn't painful to use and the story is very entertaining.

Yes but keep in mind this is not a "cozy" relaxing game, it is a game about efficiency and pumping out as much produce as possible. Also you can make friends with the villagers.

This game is not just "one more turn" followed by "oh god it's six in the morning" good. It is "good thing I have it on a laptop so I can take it into the bathroom with me" good. It is "my leg just fell asleep, why the hell am I still in the bathroom?" good. I missed a couple of the last Total War games but lord help me I'm back on my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. This is probably my next 400hr+ game
