I would have refunded this but by the time I was intent on it I saw I had 2 hours and 10 minutes in the game. I played through the original Evil Within about a week ago, and since I liked it quite a bit I decided to check out 2 against my better judgement after what I'd heard. The pacing of the original is gone, instead of feeling constantly oppressed and always trying to be stingy with ammo you instead roam around a boring open world doing side quests and picking up crafting items. You can still stumble across a couple neat things, but that doesn't make up for finding a building and trying to get in only to find a locked door or a board blocking the way because you haven't reached that point in the story yet. Frankly I would have preferred if it kept going with its linear RE4 style giving you some good (even if some weren't so good in the original) action and stealth setpieces.
