Despite the negative reviews, I've enjoyed myself very much. I'm a casual simmer, knowing all the basics of flight and even have some IRL hours. For general aviation, this hits the nail on the head.

For years us players of MSFS have had to reach to FSeconomy (yes I'm that old) or OnAir for any kind of campaign/monetary style missions. MSFS 2024 fills that niche with their new career progression, certifications and training for said certifications.

The training is very good for anyone that is a casual flyer.

I bought the 129.99 version as I wanted the planes from MSFS2020 to transfer over easily. Otherwise I'd say this is a good value at the standard price.

I run on High settings, 60fps using 32gb of ram, 3080ti, ryzen 3700x. I have 1gbps download speed as well which helps load in the cities.

I really had high hopes for this. Supporter of KSP since 0.11, you know when you had to buy it from their website, steam had never heard of it and the developers STILL finished the game? Yeah, thousands of hours and proud to say I was there when it was great. I'll never forget the 0.18 update that brought us docking.....

Now we find ourselves here. Left abandoned by those we supported so long. Don't confuse my 95 hours with hours of enjoyment. They've been miserable through the constant bugs, kraken glitches and terrible UI that they forced onto us.

We all need to fight back against dev's asking full price for a game and then abandoning us only barely a year later. I've requested a refund, you should too.

Give you a bit of background on myself so you know my stance
3k hours on Gmod, never played a half life game. I got into PC gaming just after they were popular.
Adamant VR gamer especially with FPS shooters.

Story was fine, even easy to pick up on not knowing the half life series, but who gives a sh*t about the story,
This game is absolutely everything I wanted out of VR. Every object interactive, every touch every stupid bottle I've thrown, every single prop I picked up all felt like I was holding it.

Coming from my GMOD experience. Everytime I picked up an object I thought to myself. "The modding community will open the door to everything VR with this single platform."

10/10 will play through again as it was relatively short.

My advice, Buy it. Now. Don't run through the missions, take your time, explore your surroundings, pry open a headcrab by hand and throw it's body into a barnacle.

Don't own VR? Go buy a headset for this game only. Then start buying other titles. The future of VR needs your support.

Also note to anyone capable; GMOD VR is a money maker, buy the Source 2 rights, mount all of HL;Alyx's props and the VR community will be forever in debt to you. - intellectual property of Garrittpwl, add me to purchase my ideas ;)

EDIT* A YEAR AND A THOUSAND HOURS LATER.

I can now say that I no longer recommend this game and I even make money from it on twitch thanks to it's community and wonderful subs. @gptvee.

First off let's start with the fact that I love the side of the community that is 17+ years of age. The amount of knowledge and engineering that can be applied into your builds is amazing. Anything below that seems to consist of an annoyingly toxic, mingey group of children that refuse to learn and continuously spawn creations they didn't make with no desire to learn how they function.

My real problem though, lies with the Dev's lack of focus on the game breaking bugs.

Here are a few of these issues that I encounter DAILY on the "stable" branch.

Game crashes to desktop on Loading/Saving (every 3-5 Saves repeatable yet no fix).

Game crashes to desktop in multiplayer 9 out of 10 games (repeatable).

Game crashes to desktop on vehicle spawning (likely due to auto save that you can't turn off).

Save File will become "bugged" and your creations and fuel stations/buildings will randomly disappear making the save file unplayable (if you play with finite fuel) and requires you to either do in depth XML editing or just making a new career save (mind you classic career requires you to accumulate money and research points to get access to parts).

AI ships will become "stuck" where in their crew glitches out of the ship. Don't touch one of these "stuck" ships unless you plan on orbiting the earth.

Small blocks will fall through the ground with minimal force applied.

Ropes, Cables and hoses "stretch" an abnormal amount.

Hinges are lighter than any other block and can be used inside a ship to create a negative buoyancy.

Any wedge other than a 1x1 can be glitched through and therefore cannot be made a walkable surface.

Water physics drag effect on parts is 5x that of what it should be especially with Hydrodynamic designs.

Anything below 30m/s in the air and you're falling out of the sky when using any "wing" blocks for lift regardless of quantity.

Wind will take your creations to another dimension at random.

Afterburners work underwater when using water for fuel.

Mechanical pivots and tracks seem to break easily (likely a game engine issue)

Dev's add a block that wasn't necessary without putting it into experimental build only to find that they broke all the landing gears visually doing so and then the block they added isnt even water tight as it should be (3 way corner pipe solid piece). Straight to the "stable" branch mind you.

I fear the neglect from the obvious issues is only just the beginning as the dev's(all 4 of them from what I've heard, could be wrong) is just the beginning as they have announced they're working on Carrier Command 2 as well for release in Sept 2021.

The neglect from the dev's is already apparent as many of these issues have been around since before I knew what I was doing in this game. Currently they seem to focus on the community of children's requests to add weapons (also to be added as PAID DLC TO A BETA) more than they focus on fixing their issues at hand. Yet they can't seem to make any more watertight windows for whatever reason even though we've been asking for them since before COVID.

I will still continue to play this game to support my twitch community and friends but I will not be recommending any of my viewers or friends buy the game until they fix it. I literally crash to desktop 5-10 times a night.

Please dev's I beg you, do not take your 9 million dollars from this game and leave us high and dry for Carrier Command 2. Please fix this game and make it as good as it should be. Sincerely, a Loyal player and fan of the game.

Also mind you, I run this game off an SSD on a Ryzen 7 3700X, 32GBs of ram and a 1070TI gpu. It is EXTREMELY COMMON for me to get physics lag but only be using less than 50% of CPU and GPU. The game needs optimized, badly.

OLD REVIEW BELOW; (80hrs at time of review)

Space engineers, with bad graphics, but good mechanics. Boats, ships, planes, heli's. Build it, fly it, crash it, raise it, then recommend it.

Fun game, I purchased this and played on "normal." I had all three people defeated in my first 1.5 hours or so of the game. There is an "explore mode" but it basically puts you in the see against wave after wave of pirate ships. I could spend another hour or two and have all the other ships unlocked. I don't know that I'd say it's worth 20 dollars yet or not. I think it'd be good around 10. I will say that its a very pretty game. See my stream https://www.twitch.tv/videos/360097501

I'll start with the thousands of hours I have in the DayZ mod in all its glory. I haven't played as much SA as my main priority in the mod was vehicle repair and troop movement for various clans, with the lack of airborne vehicles in the SA over the past 4 years, I struggle to grasp interest in this game anymore. Tonight I got on for what I fear will be the last time.

Currently you run around; or drive poorly mechanized vehicles (get stuck on silly stuff, dayZ mod was sooo much better in this category) and you try not to starve to death. You spend hours, yes I mean HOURS, gearing up with hopes that you'll find enough netting to put together that camo'd 91/30. Once you do this your game is complete, you can now bambi hunt, but a flip to a high pop server will show you, there are no bambi's left. The community is dying rapidly and with some soft piano music you realize that this time you leave your geared character outside Berezino, could likely be the last time you fire up this game. There is no longer an end game. There are no longer 50+ high pop servers to choose from.

Each time I play this game I spend just enough time on it to get some gear. Only to log off and wait 6 months hoping I can come back to a thriving community, but each time it's not so.

Just as I once did with Halo; the beloved game that I wasted my teenage years playing, I tonight will say goodbye to DayZ. I one day hope to return to you and see you in your former glory as I fly in a huey to power down on a random field and save someone who has been stickin and is bleeding to death with all my Trusted Medics of the Wasteland friends, but I fear those days are long behind me. Goodbye DayZ https://youtu.be/vCBNJwDixYc?t=33m47s

Loved this game, I've had it since it first went to Steam. I had it before that. It's unfortunate that once Oovee has killed the development on it. Haven't had an update in nearly a year. I'd say if you're interested, get it on sale that way you don't have to pay full price for it in all it's unfinished state.

Very good game, there is hardly any learning curve, the only being a few (like 3) different controls outside of the normal FPS. I would only even classify this as a game because you play through it. It is more like a movie that you walk/run/climb through with a couple different dialogues you can choose from. The ending is meh. But I think it was worth the 17.99 I spent on it when it was on sale. If you want an interactive thriller/drama movie, this is it.
