This game doesn't hold up to the original and doesn't have much of a story to talk about. It's gameplay is kind of ass still and even though its better than it was, its just not worth playing in general. The issues from release weren't the problem, this game is NOT an improvement over the first for any reason. The parkour still isn't as snappy as the first game even with all of the upgrades and tech trees filled. The combat is somehow one note with so many options. I WILL BUY DYING LIGHT: THE BEAST, but(!) my hopes and standards will be low. Hopefully the scoring, gameplay, and parkour will be more fluid and addictive like the first game was. This game kinda sucks still with reloaded edition. Maybe its worth playing with friends but good luck finding someone who can run it well.

Here is my, while very heated, outdated review from november 2022 before The Reloaded Edition(lmao);
The first games movement and combat was way better, I'm not sure why other people aren't talking about how much less snappy and responsive the entire game feels. It took me 3 hours to actually get to the open world portion of the game which i think is pretty abhorrent being that that is the main part of the game and it becomes unable to refund by the time you get to see it. Not much combat is shown before its already too late to refund. All the controls are janky and hardly playable.
Weapons are super rare for no reason and human enemies have a very low chance of dropping their weapons that also do little damage. Plus crafting weapons isn't possible at the beginning of the game. This game is not worth investing the time it takes to make it even remotely feel similar to how dying light 1 felt. I'm surprised jumping is unlocked from the get go and not in the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ skill tree system. Also a great feature of the movement is Aiden will continue walking an extra foot or two in any direction and will force you to instant die to fall damage.
They removed sprint key and made it auto sprint which is not only immersion breaking but also pretty frustrating for precision platforming or combat movement. Not worth getting and entirely worse than the first game in every way except graphics i guess. You can't block zombies so most combat against infected is clicking M1 six plus times then waiting for your stamina bar to go back up then rinse and repeat until you either win or you die because you get grabbed by a zombie behind the one fighting you as it phases through the one you stunlocked. Everything enjoyable about the first one has been completely reworked and made worse. This game is a beautifully polished turd with not only terrible gameplay it has insanely boring story and setting. Absolute snoozer with no redeeming qualities.
