More polished than HL1 and comparitively linear and less confusing.

+ Good story and maps, innovative gameplay for the time, doesn't feel like a 25 year old game. Really makes you appreciate how creative older games were when they didnt have the graphical fidelity that we have now.

- Mechanics especially of player movements and the puzzle levels can get annoying af. Also there is barely any hints so you have to figure out a lot by trial and error / walkthroughs.

Haven't laughed so hard in months. Worth it!

The best game community out there. The game felt quite overwhelming at the beginning with so many different level types but all the people I have met so far were helpful. Especially the higher level folks who guided me and other fellow newcomers. Spent a solid hour trying different beers and dancing together.

In a sea of toxic multiplayer experiences nowadays, deep rock galactic is a breath of fresh air.

Nice artwork and theme that was relatable. Liked the concept of changing world dimensions to show the progress made.

Wouldn't have minded if the length was a bit longer tho, also controller support would fit this really well so try implementing that.

Doom but with a katana instead.

Great storyline and gameplay, the way you can switch between the classic and the remastered graphics with just a button press is simpley awesome (especially if your system can't run the game smoothly).

Coop works well but the initial games in the collection don't have any checkpoint saving so have to do the entire mission again if anyone disconnects.

Worth it for the 84% discount price.

As a casual player who plays on a controller mostly with medium AI or Co-op the experience was quite straightforward and fun. The game is superbly optimised and runs well even on older hardware. DLSS and FSR are also present which is appreciated. The handling is quite different from previous installments which is the major reason for the bad ratings, it is a lot stiffer and takes a while to get used to. Personally after tweaking the handling saturation and linearity settings it doesn't feel that bad anymore, but again I'm not the one who tries to set lap world records or something.


The additional My Life stuff though seems typical EA crap, could have been implemented well like say Test Drive Unlimited did in the past but it's pointless here. Same with the supercar hotlap stuff which is obviously half assed and feels like a mobile game feature. Haven't faced any major bugs yet except one- the menu overlay gets stuck if you change some graphics settings which may require force closing the game.
