Only played 3 hours so far but what can I say.... don't listen to the "trend" of hating on this game, CA Sofia have proven that they can step up from SAGA & DLC releases and create a fantastic game that is oozing with care and passion at every turn. As a fan of ancient Egypt and historical titles I didn't really feel they'd captured the vibe it from the trailers and game play videos and it didn't appear "historical", well, I was wrong. They certainly have.

Why is no one mentioning the level of immersion here? this game has matched combat, constant themed cut-scenes, the most comprehensive mechanics and resource management of any total war to date, an incredible soundtrack, beautiful graphics and art and much more! my expectations were so low going into this because of what I'd heard or read about it.

As it turns out the hate is just another lame trend, you can really see that CA Sofia poured their hearts and souls into this game and did they best they could.

I've been continually shocked by the amount of systems and mechanics that are introduced to you as you play this game, the tech tree, faction uniqueness, art (USE THE 2D UNIT CARDS!!), gods to worship, permanent choices that effect the entire campaign like following in the footsteps of ancient ruler like Kofu the builder, the animations and pace of combat, soldiers and commanders shouting and hurling insults at each other and so much more, really shocked. don't miss this one! expected to refund after 30 minutes and yet 3 hours in and I've struggled to get up and walk away from it, totally sucked in, great job CA Sofia on your first major title! I can't wait to see how Pharaoh evolves.

Hugely Enjoyable, lots of fun in mortal empires thats for sure!! love the unique starting positon, the quest battles and dragon battles are entertaining and very high quailty with custom cutscenes on the quest battles the coolest high elf legendary lord! and FREEEEEEEE

Well after 11 hours what can I say!!! I’ve had a few crashes and bugs but oh my word this game is phenomenal! Judging by a lot of bad reviews people don’t seem to realise it’s a slower longer climb to becoming that one man army killing machine that we all know and love from warband, now that I have become a vassal, maintained high quality troops, increased my skills and got my hands on decent gear I’ve really started to feel like a wrecking ball again, taking down 20+ units every battle, I love that you need to have renown to control divisions in allied battles it feels like I’m really earning my place within the kingdom! Also despite 11 hours I have barely scratched the surface of what’s to come!! Please everyone give it a chance to take off, it’s much better than in warband when you could be unstoppable within 30 mins!
