Sure, you can go into dungeons, beat up some monsters and steal all their loot, but it's much more interesting to play the item shop owner who's supplying those brave adventurers.

Mechanically it's an OK game. The dungeon crawling portion is serviceable, but pretty much any dungeon crawler would be better. The economics/shop aspect is interesting, and it claims depth through the customization options, but I had no trouble finishing the game largely ignoring anything beyond the basics. It's a good way to kill some time without thinking to hard, but if you're looking for a complex game you'll find better options out there.

A cute little puzzle/action game where you play an escaped alien convict and befriend a blob that will eat everything else. I found the controls a bit loose but still very playable. Virtually no story, no real depth and cartoony graphics may make this one better suited for the younger crowd but it's a decent game to kick back with after an aggravating day for the older folks.

Now this is an interesting game to review. By today's standards it's not that impressive, almost everything this game does you can find a game that does that aspect better. Where this game is notable is that virtually every aspect of it it highly polished when the other games usually excel in one area and are lack-luster outside of that area. And Half-Life 2 did this years before other games reached a comparable level.

If you're looking to start this series today, you'll probably view this as a competent FPS but be underwhelmed compared to all the hype that surrounds this title. It's a solid title that will provide your money's worth, and a good study on game design, but while it set the bar for game quality, other games have caught up to it.

A fine example of a metroidvania game. You wander gathering powerups so you can access hidden/blocked areas all the while beating up mooks. The story's not Shakespeare but it is entertaining and has some good laughs, although a familiarity with Spanish would be beneficial since there are plenty of puns.

While I've heard it's playable with a keyboard+mouse, I'd strongly recommend using a gamepad.

A fun puzzle/platformer with beautiful graphics, an interesting soundtrack and some rather dark undertones.

A fun little heist game where you take the role of one out of 8 different jobs/characters. Not high end photo realistic graphics but the block/pixilated graphics add to the charm.

Game play, this isn't that interesting. For most of the game you wander around and locate 5 hidden items and then you solve a fairly straightforward puzzle. Near the end it does throw in change, but it's only for one fairly brief section.

The story is where the game really shines. Since it's a fairly short game you can't talk much about it without giving away surprises. You travel back through Johnny's memories and uncover the reason why he wants to go to the moon and why he never did so. For the most part, the surprises/turns in the story are fairly predictable, but they are still rather potent moments to watch them unfold. And if the ending's to saccharine for your tastes, just remember that it's all modified memories, they didn't actually happen.

Story-wise, you play a series of programs as they acquire sentience and learn about love, friendship and loss as they explore their world. Gameplay-wise, it's a cute little platformer where you play various quadrilaterals with differing properties to help solve puzzles you encounter along the way.

It's Final Fantasy VII. For those not familiar with the title, this pulls off just about every facet of a JRPG from pseudo-turn based combat to effeminate male leads. If you don't like that, you probably won't like this game. If you like JRPGs it's worth checking out what is often cited as the best of the long running franchise.

While the graphics haven't held up as well as the nostalgia, the game play remains as solid as it ever was.

A fun stealth platformer where you can either massacre your way through the level, or slip unnoticed to your objective. There's probably a middle ground, but why bother? Story may not be terribly original, but it serves the game well and is no worse than can be found in most current games.
