There is so much to love about Destiny - It is artistically amazing with an awesome blend of scifi and fantasy, packed with a glorious soundtrack and a captivating universe. It has some of the most satisfying PvE combat I've ever played with a crazy amount of armour, ability and weapon permutations. When the story hits, it hits. Its no wonder Destiny has such a strong, dedicated fan base.

But the game has so, so much baggage.

If you've ever been a Destiny fan, any number of these issues would have reared their ugly head.
  • Boring/repetitive mission design
  • Recycled content
  • Two terrible game launches
  • Bad quality and expensive DLC
  • 'Sunsetting' content
  • Ridiculous microtransactions
  • An onboarding experience beyond repair
  • Egregious FOMO
  • The infamous layoffs
  • and more...

It seems like whenever Destiny hits its stride it is immediately struck down by poor management, greed or incompetence. It is a game I can not wholeheartedly recommend, despite how much I love it. Bungie found something truly special, yet after 10 years it almost feels like they squandered it.

See you starside Destiny

It's WW2 the anime.

The gameplay can drag on at times and theres some major issues with framerate (you have to cap at 30fps for some levels). Menus can also be a bit slow, and it certainly shows its age in some graphical areas.

However, it has a pretty fun (albeit very anime) story and cast to carry it through, coupled with some unique gameplay and beautiful music. Overall enjoyed my time.

This game is awesome.
Had this way back with the xbox, picked up recently and don't regret it. The movement, the pace, the satisfaction of the guns, and yes, even the titans some times. It truly is a delightful FPS game like I remembered that will have you whizzing around the map trying to land some shots on some other guy whizzing around. Its got crisp sound and visuals to know whats going on and deliver the good feeling of getting a kill. I'm not going to go out and say its 'underrated' as such, I'm sure you have seen the recent surge of videos and general sentiment for this great game. Still, I think theres not enough people who have given it a go. Sure, its got a rather steep learning curve and there may be a few games with veterans who won't stop using a maxed out smg dominating the lobby. But get into it, and I assure you its a breath of fresh air for FPS fans.

'Insurgency: Sandstorm' is a great tactical first person shooter. It gets so many things right - the gritty realism, the strategical teamwork and roles, the graphics and more! Its difficult but rewarding, and is great fun with friends. Gun play is realistic and feels impactful and tactile. Loadouts are well balanced and accessories and equipment are useful in their own rights. The modes are pretty good, and 'Frenzy' is easily becoming a community favourite. Its a zombie inspired arcade game, and gets really chaotic and fun with challenging enemy variants and good times assured. The main modes are Co-op and PVP. Co-op is really fun, especially in hardcore. AI are pretty good, they require you to not just rush in. Sometimes AI are a bit ridiculous and flick headshot you. Teamwork really helps you take objectives, as most of the time, respawning requires objectives to be completed. Winning is well rewarded with lots of EXP. I haven't played PVP, as Australian population on PVP is rather low, especially ranked. There are official servers and community servers. The game uses Easy-Anti Cheat Service, which serves its purpose, with a few hiccups. Lots of gamemodes have been added! They are all pretty cool and unique.

Customisation is pretty decent, not incredibly in-depth, but does a pretty fine job. You can customise the helmet, camo, mask, select predefined faces, pants, shoes, eyeware, hair etc. Note, females get less head customisation and insurgents are strictly male at the time of this review. You get clothing by unlocking it via ranking up, or buying it with in-game currency, which is earned by leveling up. You do receive 1000 to start off. Some DLC sets are out of place, but most people don't really wear them anyway and they don't destroy the entire atmosphere.

Mods are one of my favourite aspects to the game. Due to it being on Unreal, mods have been allowed to thrive. The map making contest has produced tons of awesome maps. Gameplay mods are there too, theres even ISMC if you just love attachment. I hope to see the modding scene keep growing.

All in all, I recommend it! Its a fantastic game for any FPS fan, and holds up nicely to its predecessor. You should get it now, as its 50% off (at least in Australia) and is well-worth it.

Side notes:
Fullscreen is weird, such as alt-tabbing and effect on FPS.
Stability is pretty good now.
Recommend friends (if you have any).
Community is usually pretty good.
Best to host a server to use mods.

...
Thanks for reading, hope it helped.

Great and fun game :) I play especially on the double xp events which level me up fast to give me some nice chests. Really fun and smooth gameplay. A nice touch is that they made is differing bits can be shot off which adds the need to aim, not just shoot at whatever. For example you can shoot their weapons, or engine to immobilise them. Also why'd did they get rid of simultaneous fire? They should add it back in as an option. :(

What I do not like is this premium account business when scrapping/selling things. Premium account gives 3 times more robits (currency), and without a premium account it just does not give enough robits, especially if you are saving up for a legendary weapon and makes it a sort of pay to win. Maybe they can make the number higher for the non-premium accounts and the premium account only 2 times.

I have come to my senses. This game is really grindy, especially when the loot boxes drop horrible things and you don't get robits from battle rewards. They gave me 8 or more of the best loot boxes....and not one good legendary. Remember that each box has 4 drops (8 if you have premium). I've been able to get alright but im finding the game less and less fun, more grind and same gameplay. I'm hoping though, to get Robocraft Infinity on the Xbox which looks better.

Update: Noice they phased out lootboxes! Now has a new progressive skill tree and easier to get stuff, so ignore most of the stuff about the lootboxes. But cometics are annoying to get now without paying... :(

7/10 Can't decorate again.
