Game is short and has a brutal learning curve compared to other soulslikes. Its really about managing your time well to as as strong as possible as quickly as possible. Early hours of the game are about familiarizing yourself with the map and areas. After a decent chunk of hours and a few videos everything just kinda clicks. I currently have 5 nightlords slain as well as the final boss. Bosses are Pretty cool and classes let you enjoy the best Min/Max optimized playstyles at will which is dope.

My rule of thumb is if I can get 1 hours per $ spent the game was worth the price. I think this is worth the money.

Great game and really brings me back to the feeling of playing the original, but I cannot in good faith recommend it because its horribly optimized and the whole engine is a mess. I'm getting fps dips, stutters, shimmering on objects, etc on a 4090. The game also introduces crackling/popping audio that is very distracting. If you don't mind setting aside some time to polish the turd its an enjoyable experience.

Helping people beat Mohg at lvl 150 to access the DLC made it painfully obvious some of you aren't built for this and should save your money.

10/10

I haven't played an Armored Core game since AC2 for the PS2 and this game is everything I wanted and more.
To be honest I'm surprised how much i'm enjoying it and its not just childhood nostalgia talking.

Gameplay: The movement and gunplay feel great though a little clunky when using swords/shield. The charged burst rifle is incredibly cool but I've opted for an assault rifle in each arm and double shoulder missiles and I disintegrate everything in front of me. I'm sure as I unlock better parts the gameplay will continue to evolve and feel smoother but even just using the basic starting mech gives you a satisfying experience.
I opted to play on controller and feel I made the right choice. My controller has 2 buttons on the back which I have bound to jump/fly on the left and dodge on the right. I'm using Control Type A with the X and B or Square and O buttons swapped and I'm able to fly and dodge while using all 4 of my guns and aim at the same time. The default control scheme might be a little harder to use without back buttons since you have to take your thumb off the thumbstick to aim but the aim assist is pretty generous in this game and they give you an additional lock on mode.

Difficulty: It is FromSoftware were talking about here but the game offers a good balance between challenge and fun. Basic enemies are childsplay while bosses require you to master the flight and dodging mechanics while managing your energy levels otherwise you're a sitting duck. It took me a few tries on the first boss to really get it down but after gitting gud what started out as an "Am I supposed to lose this fight?" turned into wow the energy sword is broken.

Story: The story is pretty engaging so far. You start out as a nameless mercenary scavenging for a merc license to operate on the planet Rubicon. The missions are diverse while also giving plenty of kill everything that moves and optional mini bosses sprinkled in. The handler is the main voice you hear and gives mission details and the voice work is top notch, I actually enjoy hearing about mission details when its presented this nicely. Missions pacing and map size feel nice without being tedious or boring.

Graphics: The graphics are very good. I opted to turn off motion blur and depth of field and upped the framerate in game to 120 with vsync off and the game performs rock solid day 1. They also implemented RTX brilliantly in this game by only having it affect the garage where you build and customize your AC. Since its mostly static this allows the mech to have a lot of eye candy while still giving fast paced combat outside of the garage.

Overall customization is great and its fun to shoot stuff which is what an AC game should be.
FromSoftware has released another banger and I'm happy to finally have an Armored Core game on PC!

Spent more time in the character creator than actual gameplay. Combat slow, clunky, and unsatisfying and the controls are frustrating if you're coming from souls game. Why can't I bind run and dodge to the same button? Story is kinda interesting but the actual gameplay is mediocre. Rather play Fallen Order or Dark Souls 1 for the hundredth time.

Do not buy this DLC.

Rushed asset reuse after they lost the Predator license. Killer encourages 45 minute games around 3 gens until one side stops caring about the match.

I personally bought it for 4 reasons.
1. To flex that I have extra cash to burn.
2. I already own all the other DLC so might as well.
3. Probably the most important reason.
I needed to buy something to have enough steam points to give a salty survivor that called me a homophobic slur the clown award on thier steam profile.
4. Thalita is thicc.

I grew up playing Halo 1, 2, and 3. They were my childhood, but 343 isint Bungie and this game just doesn't capture lightning in a jar like they did. I've tried so hard to like this game, I really have. Playing on controller helps since Aim Assist is blatantly better than Mouse in this game, but its not enough. The map design is uninspired, empty, and bland, the weight and movement of everything just feels off.

Then you have the horrible idea to code playlists in with challenges so they can't even add basic modes. Love it or hate it but Call of Duty figured out 10+ Playlists, progression, and battlepasses years ago and 343 had plenty of time to take notes.

SBMM ruins casual fun as usual so personally I've found the ranked Playlist to be more enjoyable but I have uninstalled this game 5 times now and keep reinstalling it due to FOMO on the battlepass and the hopes it will improve in the future.

Nothing will ever ruin my memories of Halo 1-3 but I guess I just have to accept that Halo isint for me anymore and I cant relate to 343's Halo.
