i love the way this feels, alien isolation-esque gameplay with the classic resident evil world. only question i have is why is stealth not encouraged?it seems that the way to the promised land of the good ending is through balls to the wall combat. my hope is that stealth will be an equally viable gameplay method.

its a shame this absolutely had the potential to blow every other entry in the series out of the water. too bad its broken, unoptimized, and buggy. so much so that it completely destroys the experience. its ironic that dying is called "desynchronizing" because desync is a huge issue in coop, not only the person who joins but everyone will be affected. speaking of which, coop! finally right? well... when it works its a great time but it rarely ever does. more often than not you'll be fighting the controls just to get arno to do what you want him to. also combat, again fun when it works but often ♥♥♥♥♥ over the players. insta-death, ignoring parries, teleporting enemies, unity has it all. whats most disappointing is the amount of detail put into the world, revolutionary france is beautifully realized and covered in detail, but unfortunately you wont see much of this detail because you'll have to throw the texture level down to nothing to get a playable framerate.

if you really want it get it on sale dont spend more than $18ish

Gameplay - good, little clunky sometimes but generally very good

Story - what the ♥♥♥♥? not only did nothing i do matter in the end, but the game ends on a totally premature note. like there should have been another half to play.

characters - eh, too many generic europeans to keep track of. i often forgot who was who. mcready is pretty cool though, i wish they did more with him.

Difficulty - very easy in my experience. stealth is op naturally. finished on 'give me dues ex' and only used the one health kit they have you use in the tutorial.

Environments - beautiful; future prague is gorgeous and full of life. very immersive. the other locales are also beautiful but you wont spend much time in any of them.

overall - really good but holy hell i want to know what the writers were thinking screwing everyone out of an actual conclusion, i paid for a full game i expect to recieve a full game. but regardless the experience was good and some of the quests were memorable especially the murder mystery, wow that was great. go ahead buy it but get it on sale don't waste $60

For once, in a long time, the sp campaign is I knockout both in content and execution. By Sherman, you say, who plays call of duty for singleplayer? And to that I answer: pretty much no one. But I do, I can't stand the multiplayer in most if not all call of duty games. And this one is no different. But the campaign is great. It has a vaguely mass effect feel to it and allows for more freedom than previous installments regarding how you approach missions. And the best part, they're fun. Zombies is great too. I haven't played zombies since black ops 1 so what I can tell you is that it's a whole lot better than that. Much more in depth that it used to be. Zombies seem to be better balanced as well. So if you just want to play multiplayer, sucks for you but hey I'm not your mom you do you bby

Edit: finished campaign unlocked new bonus difficulty which is generally fun spoilers ahead i guess.

The campaign plays out like if everything in mass effect 2 and three went horribly wrong, where you watch your brothers and sisters in arms die horrible, gruesome deaths and then watch your prick adversary gloat about it. this is a level of passion and dedication i've never really felt in a call of duty game. really this is one of the best ones out there with a top notch, if not a tad bit short singleplayer experience.

the bonus difficulties are great, but the way they're implemented is not. let me explain, call of duty loves to throw you into hair raising action sequences where bullets fly all around all the time. unfortunately with the specialist difficulty (where limb damage, helmet damage, and inventory are all a thing) you will often emerge from a cutscene to be instakilled by call of duty ai's infamous laser-accuracy because you havent gone through the animation of putting your helmet on (which you have no control over) where you will die and restart and die and restart over and over. the game will throw you into circumstances that were never meant to be played with this sort of difficulty. fortunately you can just pick and choose the miisions you want to replay instead of endlessly looping from constant death.

kind of a piece of ♥♥♥♥ to be honest. not worth getting. 4 hour campaign on hard. clunky movement, controls, weapons. nonexistent multiplayer (which isn't a huge highpoint anyway), and dated visuals. just go read a synopsis, it'll be a better and cheaper experience anyway.

Really good, tons of fun, pretty engaging story if not a bit dull (still fun though). desparately in need of some story dlc of some kind. the end leaves you wanting more. more upgrades, more locations, more characters, more something. anyway great game very glad i bought it
