After waiting almost a decade for a new Crusader Kings, we get no real updates in terms of game-play: just superficial graphical changes.
It's still a walking simulator combat wise and game-play wise the ONLY new things are the "hooks" and stress mechanics. Hooks which are useful in certain circumstances and stress which can be outright ignored for the whole of your playthrough. But in turn they removed mechanics such as boats, now you simply walk across water as if your army was lead by Jesus. The combat mechanics were over simplified to begin with, they didn't need to be dumbed down further.
I would say it's disappointing but it's Paradox this is what any rational player comes to expect from them.
If you don't have Crusader Kings II buy this, you'll have fun since Crusader Kings is at it's core a rather fun, if simplistic, game. But if you already own it don't bother buying it as I have.

It's a discount version of Brutal Doom.

Standalone DLC that doesn't standalone.

Reminds me of my childhood.

Pirated it for a years. Bought it. Still one of the best games known to man. Just try it for yourself.
