I've been playing this game since it's out, and I'm enjoying it a lot. Or, more precisely, I would be enjoying it IF IT WAS NOT CRASHING ALL THE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ TIME!

I usually don't leave bad reviews, and I will update it if this changes, but I can't in good faith recommend a 70 euros game which crash randomly but consistently.

It's not like the first Stalker, it's like the first Stalker I remember, which is better.

Early Access Review
First and foremost: yes it's an early access game at the time of reviewing, so take this into account. The main problem people seems to have is that there isn't enough content, but for an average player like me it's pretty good on that front (I'm 10h in and haven't finished it yet.)

That said, this game is amazing. I couldn't put it down when I started playing, but right now I'm forcing myself not to play so I can enjoy it fully when it comes out. It looks amazing, sounds amazing and feels amazing. It's a real pleasure to run and jump around with the prince, the wall running mechanic is pure genius and makes everything flow seamlessly. They managed to make fights revolve around movement, which makes so much sense in a PoP game. Each new biome is more beautiful than the one before, and the music is incredible.

So yes, don't expect to put a 100h in (yet), but as many or as few hours you'll put in, those will be incredible!

I'm recommending Blade of Darkness because I had a good time, and I'm still having a good time. As soon as I finished the game, I started it again, to try a new character. It has a simplicity that I didn't know I was craving. Surprisingly tense combat and a nice lore that gets its inspiration from Persian mythology, which is rarely seen in med fan worlds (at least in my experience).

It is not perfect though. You'll have to bear with the clunky controls, one or two unfair traps, a camera which could play better with walls... But if you can get past those and third person melee action is your thing, I'm sure you'll have a bloody good time!

If I had to describe Froggy's Battle into three words, it would be: simple, cute and fun.

Simple because the mechanics are few and easy to grasp, with just two buttons. But simple doesn't mean easy, as the difficulty can ramp up quite a bit on the later levels, and even more in hard mode. It doesn't mean that it lacks depth either, there are a multiple ways to build your character, and the randomness makes it so that you'll be forced to experiment between games.

Cute because every character in this game is adorable. If you don't believe me just look at the screenshots! The music only adds to the cozy feelings, even though as I said the game can be tough (I hate you canoneer frogs, even if I want to hug you.)

And fun because it's the perfect pick up and play game when you want to spend a short time having fun. And like all good rogues you'll realize afterwards that "a short time" transformed into multiple runs, because you can't stop playing!

Sifu might be the most difficult game I had to play (I'd say quite close to Sekiro), but it also has one of the most enjoyable fighting system I've seen. It really allows the player to get creative with how they approach any situation, and it's pure joy to finally manage to clear difficult encounter without dying.

Talking about dying, Sifu does something really interesting with its age system. I've heard some people found it frustrating to start the same levels over and over again, but personally I thought it was really smart. It allows you a lot of leniency with the first levels, so you should be able to see the end of them even if you end up being 60yo, but then it pushes you to come back, train and get better, without forcing you. The level design itself is built around this: the first time you go through a level, you're forced to explore everything. Then you unlock shortcuts which allow you to go through the level quickly, avoiding unnecessary risks. Once you're comfortable, you can then go back to do the level completely, taking more bonuses in the process.

This is very Kung Fu: do it again and again until your movement is perfect. And as a kung fu practitioner myself, I feel that the game really reproduced the philosophy of martial arts training really well. To talk a bit about the moves themselves, they're cool as ♥♥♥♥. I don't think it portrays realistic fights, but I'm pretty sure it was not the goal. Sifu makes you live though Hong Kong cinema fight scenes, and makes you feel like Donnie Yen or Jackie Chan. You're not in a street fight, you're in Ip Man or Drunken Master.

So I recommend this game with all my heart, with the only caveat that the difficulty might be a problem for some people.
