10/10 would have my neck immediately snapped by a shade again.

The Positives:

* The new intuitive building system is a welcome addition, and functions well (when it works).
* The AI companion helps alleviate a lot of the mundane aspects of collecting resources when building.
* Combat feels more punchy and overall improved from the first game.

The Negatives:

* The game has numerous bugs in it's current state, which is arguably expected for a game in early access.
* Many constructions from the first game (log sled, water collector, effigies) are no longer present for no apparent reason.
* Enemy variety has been cut down from the first game.
* Half of the caves in the game have no significance to the game's progression and serve as padding.
* All caves and points of interest in the game are already marked on your map, reducing most exploration to mindlessly running from point to point.

** Despite all the interesting documents hinting at piecing together the game's story, it all just falls flat on it's face. The story and the game's ending is honestly one of the worst I have ever experienced, and felt like a slap to the face for fans of the first game who were expecting a similar experience.

Overall, I cannot recommend this game to anyone who is expecting a decently fleshed out plot similar to the first game, at least in it's current state. Hopefully the developers will address these issues in time.

Truly one of the games.

It's a fun game, better when you play with friends.
