This game has sucked hours and hours from my life, and that was before it came to steam.

This game is a masterpiece. The artwork, the music, the sound design, the writing, it all comes together to create a truly immersive and mesmerising work. I've been listening to the OST outside of the game, and sometimes catch myself humming or singing along to it.

House of Fata Morgana is one of my favourite Visual Novels of All Time. I doubt I'll find anything to top it in my lifetime.

It took a lot longer than I imagined for me to compose myself to write this. It's been maybe a year, or a half a year since I played, and this game has yes to leave my subconscious. As much as I agree with all the other reviews about going in blind, I am also going to stress that you view the content warnings, and really, *really* think about if this game is for you. I thought I would be fine, and very quickly figured out that I was indeed *not* fine. I made it through to the other end, but it was a rough ride at times, and I'm still feeling the effects of it today.

A short, somewhat spoiler-y, and not super comprehensive content warning - This game includes animal abuse, animal death (at the hands of a human), strong language, graphic sexual content, NTR / cuckolding, kidnapping, rape (depending on how you choose to read a few scenes, + your feelings about the situation), graphic descriptions of violence, gore, lots of blood, UI ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, mind-break, 4th wall breaking, DDLC on steroids ♥♥♥♥, emotional manipulation, and might trigger some people if they've been through an abusive relationship. Some of this is subjective, and may be results of me reading too much into certain scenes, but I thought I should mention it anyway.

Spoilers start HERE -

Now my reaction is most likely outside of the norm, and my internet going out during play may have played a role in the long-lasting fear this game has instilled in me. I had to have my discord open in order to keep myself grounded, and when it disconnected I genuinely thought it was the game's fault. For a few days after, I was wary of doors creaking, footsteps, small noises. I was a bit paranoid, well maybe more than a bit.

If this games goal was to scare the ever-loving ♥♥♥♥ out of me, it succeeded. Maybe a bit *too* well. If this game was JAST USA's effort to get me to stop buying 18+ patches, well, it failed. As much as I loathe this game and its effects on me, I love it. I can't help it. Something about the writing, the way everything just screws with you completely... Miyuki may still visit me in my darkest of nightmares, but at least I never have to spend another birthday with her again.

It's a short game, but it's full of the charm I've come to expect from the Doctor Who franchise. Its witty, cute, and a bit cheesy. Got a few small nods to previous episodes in the dialogue choices you can make. Over all the puzzles are simple, and easy to complete. There's no branches, so there's only one ending.

Ohboy, this is gonna sound weird but, this visual novel reminds me of when I was a little kid and would do the same thing, pretending I'm a video game character. And it portrayed that, very very well. Of course,, I wasn't buying milk, or terrified of the letter 'O'.

O?

If you want sex scenes, this is practically entirely that, and feelings...

If you're looking for a happy end, it is not here. If you want to see two best friends go through hell and sometimes, maybe come out the other end, that is here.

Music is was better than it should be, not gonna lie there were times I just kinda sat back and grooved. Hoping to purchase the OST if they ever release it.

I'm going to be honest, I bought this game because I saw a youtube video of Jacquelin de Leon illustrating the cover image. This game is probably best for people who are already interested in the death industry, and covers how the death industry works and even some difficult cases. The game-play is basically one of those flash-game "elsa at the spa" types. The music was lovely!
