Combat is fun, story is done well, customization is great. Negatives are the fact it still crashes sometimes, has some frustrating bugs, and can be choppy during cut scenes even with low settings which isn't a great look for a game that is closing in on being out for two years. It's not worth the $70 price tag but if you are curious, buy it on sale. If you like Fallen Order, you will like Survivor.

TLDR: It's not a finished game, buy at your own risk.

I can't recommend purchasing the game at the current moment. $30 for an unfinished game touted as being version 1.0 is not a great look. It still looks like an early access game missing a lot to be a final version (merfolk especially). If that's your vibe and you want to ride with it when it does get supposedly finished in 2024, by all means buy this game. You will sink a ton of fun time into it. But you're better off waiting a few more months and watching as updates come out. I love the time spent playing this game and will continue to play it. But as far as recommendations go, I can't recommend an unfinished game. I'll change this once they finish the story.

Edit 8/12/25 - I saw they have version 1.2 slated as coming out and all I can say after almost 2 years of waiting for a finished game, I am still waiting for a finished game.

If sound doesn't work, reload the game. If controls don't work, get good. It's a short peaceful game that only costs $1 on sale and the music is really nice to listen to. My friends made fun of me the whole time I played it. 8/10,

Swimming is really the best cardio

The initial game was really fun to play. A casual shoot bots, loot, and try not to get rekt by another team before extracting while the ship caves in around you. Rinse and repeat. There was a grind to get better armour, weapons, crafting, etc. but the joy of the game was in its simplicity. You could also choose what difficulty you wanted to be in as you got better armour. Lose all your good guns and need to reset? No problem. Don your crap armour and stock back up.

Then came the patch. Players waited weeks for this patch with servers down. It finally drops and it feels nothing like what players wanted or asked for. The map creep is gone, there are now objectives in order to escape rather than players fighting over the escape pods, and the AI is buffed beyond reason while the player feels nerfed in power and slower in speed. You now pick a class of soldier and are limited to guns that class can have. Find loot with a rare gun your class can't use? Sucks to suck. Single player queue is also gone.

My biggest regret is that my friends and I are turning our backs on Dewer's Beef Butter. If there was a single item in a game that made us all collectively smile and bring us together, it was Dewer's Beef Butter. We each had our own jingle to go along with whenever we would find it. We've now collectively turned our backs on Dewer's Beef Butter. It seems like the devs don't even care about Dewer's Beef Butter. Please revert the patch and do right by Dewer's Beef Butter.

Good 4 hour game with a gripping story and thought provoking ending. Buy it on sale and enjoy.

Kiting 101. If you want to pay to win, go elsewhere. You need some skill and a braindead mind to win this game. I finished the game in a single sit through but very refreshing compared to every other game shoving DLC and dollar signs in your face.

4 hours. That's all it took. Still, decent storyline and mindless killing of everything is always fun.

Incomplete and a shell of previous games. Buy Shogun 2 and enjoy what this game should've taken a hint from.
