Early Access Review
I'm on my first playthrough and going 25 years long now. So far it's been good. I've never played Rimworld but watched soo many videos about it before. Played some FrostPunk and Surviving Mars, both good but seemingly lacking something. Watched some videos of this game and those made it an easy buy. ("Why would he do that? I'm sure there's a better way to play this...")

A lot of reviewers mentioned about game balance... and yes, there IS a learning curve (from what the Early Access offers), it's mostly just a matter of setting your survivors priorities in order. Give them too much to do, and they'll just focus on priority 1 stuff, especially if they're on Handling duties. But once you get that right, you could almost leave it on auto-pilot.

Surviving for so long means you have contingencies for when disasters strike: solar flares, extreme weathers, and the most dreaded of them all, Aggressive Bugs... which I think are a great source of meat/resources, assuming you live through it.

I just wish there were more automation options, like setting your survivors to replace their clothes/weapons when there's only like 20% durability left on them, having them auto-draft and move to set position during bug encounters... And probably more techs on the skill tree.

All in all, it's been a great time spending on this game, and I look forward to more content soon.

Late review but yes, highly recommended. Looking forward to the next chapters.

Quick background: grew up playing ALL the Sierra adventure games, starting with KQ1, Police Quest 1-4, Space Quest 1-5, Leisure Suit Larry (all of 'em, of course), Codename: Iceman, etc. This remake is a good trip down memory lane. Gone were the days where you had to "pre-type" the commands so when you step in the room your character will be ready for action. It's all point-and-click nowadays (controller? what's that??). We used to stand on every inch of the room just to make sure that you get in front of a possible actionable item :P

Two of my oldest buds are also playing this now. Feels like we're young again, I guess.
