the english localizers slathered the first third of the game with zoomer lingo but stop pretty quickly when the plot actually happens

The AI is ludicrously aggressive - a plus if you happen to be a masochist. It has zero qualms about backing you into a corner and juggling you to death, your combo breaker means nothing beyond a way to cheese out more Fatal Sync/Devil Trigger.

Play fast, play aggressive, your defensive options are a ruse - they exist largely to facilitate you continuing hitting things with your stick.

And the final boss is really, really easy.

It's alright. Encounter design feels like you're getting jumped in the streets of Kabul because you happened to be wearing a uniform on the wrong day, but you get used to it.

It doesn't feel like Hawken. The initial kit you start with isn't very satisfying and the whole thing just feels off, it also drops the same grungy aesthetic the first game had and decides that tonally, it needs to be less grounded.

I hope the devs turn it around and make it less disappointing, but as of release, it's not worth it.

Do you like usury?
Do you enjoy taxation?
Do you enjoy feeling the hands of maintenance costs and fiscal overhead around your neck, strangling your fun?

Because that's what War Thunder is once you get past the tanks and aircraft (nobody touches ships). Taxation and enough weight placed on your capacity to make money (which isn't determined by actual skill, too many random factors for that one) barring progression via arbitrary paywalls encouraging you to spend your real life cash on the game.

Paying doesn't make the game fun. It makes it tolerable. It's been like this for the better part of the past decade. It won't get better. Steer clear.

initially fun, the visuals are an eyesore but that's part of the charm, and then you get past the first ending

after which, to progress requires a series of cryptic interactions that you would not know of in normal gameplay, involving understanding the difficulty system whose only documentation is on the cruelty squad wiki or a steam guide, as well as at least one instance of a door in the first level required to obtain the second ending being hidden on a building used for setdressing, textured the exact same as the rest of the building

the level design also takes a turn from challenging but manageable, to mandating trial and error gameplay, most notably Trauma Loop, which places an enemy with a rocket launcher (an instant kill, for the uninformed) right above a tunnel exit which is, at that point, the only path forwards
