This game has been some of the most fun I've had playing with my friends in a long time. It seems to tick all the boxes of fun, challenge, and madness. The only real complaint is that sometimes it can be finicky to join a friend/group but often this clears up after a minute or so of having been in game.

Also, nice to see that DEMOCRACY HAS SPOKEN. I had strong opinions on the sudden change of policy regarding a PSN account, not just for myself but for the countless Helldivers in places where that would not be possible. I am relieved to see they have listened to the masses and have reversed course on that policy. My support for this title will continue so long as everyone's FREEDOM to game as they choose (or in some cases to game at all!) also continues.

Lot of haters out there. I'm always enjoying myself in this game and honestly when playing a game isn't that the only thing that matters?

Cons: Sure it's got bugs. But a lot of what I see people complaining about seems to be recycled problems from Jan/Feb that as far as I'm experiencing have been fixed. Perhaps it's just me but my issues with FPS drops, de-synch, and occasional freezing/stuttering when using nades went away months ago. Hackers? Where? It was a huge problem back then I'll agree completely but I can say I've only seen one or two in the last month entirely. Only real issues I still have are the occasional vehicle flipping like it's in a blender and about 1 match in 20 my chute will catch on something dumb and having to wait like 5 seconds before I can cut it. A five second delay when hot dropping is usually a death sentence. Now I just do my best to avoid dropping into weird crevices.

Pros: The replay value here is practically infinite because every match is unique. Some matches I'm dead 10 seconds after hitting the ground...no gun in this house while my neighbor comes busting out with an UMP. Others I'm dining on some fine chicken atop some corpses. Hell, my first solo chicken dinner was due to some fool being stuck at the bottom of a cliff when the final circle was on top of the Radio Tower hill on Erangel. It was too steep for him to climb and the only paths up were well into the blue. When it finally shrank to the smallest one he was stuck out of it. Bad call, friend. But I'll never forget that because of how interesting it was. Perhaps I'm a little biased as I'm a big fan of Battle Royale. Read the book, seen the movie, read the manga. All great. I've been waiting for something like this for a while. Fortnight and the others are foolish, cartoony, and don't have the realism and urgency this game has. You're tossed down with nothing and forced to run, fight, and survive. Hard to feel the same pressure when you can instantly build walls and stairs or wtfever that crap is in Fortnight. Makes no sense to me. And the colors too....ugh. They still only have one map?

I love this game. Is it in my top 10 best designed games? No. Is it in my top 10 most enjoyable games? Absolutely. Top 5 for that matter. Up there with Jagged Alliance 2, the original Legend of Zelda, and BF1942.

So when it all boils down to it I love this game. I'm optimistic about the changes in the pipeline. I've been down this road before. I've been involved with games at this stage in the development and this is not uncommon. MWO finished up its open beta, 'launched' and for about a year people were still ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up storms and claiming the game was still in beta due to performance and balance issues. "Why are you adding a new mech/map when LRMs are still broken?!" Sound familiar? Growing pains. It took longer than PGI claimed it would and much longer than us players wanted but ♥♥♥♥ eventually got fixed. New 'mech pack/hero mech money grabs ended up turning into performance and balance upgrades/work. People still ♥♥♥♥♥ though...because why wouldn't they?

So don't listen to the haters. Give it a shot. Drop and get killed, drop and get killed, drop and get killed again. Then drop and start killing once you've gotten the hang of it. See you on the island.
