Let's just make one point clear: the review is negative not for the reason that I want to appear different from everyone else or just want to get what everyone around me likes. Yeah, I wasn't expecting cyberpunk, but also negatively predisposed was not - no bias and no expectations, come - play, will not work - find something else. I explain this in advance for the reason that you understand what position I will defend and why I came to such conclusions at all and do not bother to be negative in my direction. I'm not trying to kill your Golden cow, and I'm very happy for those who like the game and enjoy it, but I'm not one of those people.

I will immediately indicate the config:
RTX 3080 in stock, overclocked I7 10700K, 32gb RAM in two channels at a frequency of 3600 with good timings, a game installed on an M2 NVMe SSD, and the latest driver version from NVIDIA. As you know, the computer to put it MILDLY is not the weakest, but even this config was not enough for the game. Let's talk about this now.

Optimization and bugs.

Optimization is one of the worst in the gaming industry in recent years. Someone says that it was the same with the Witcher 3, but I do not agree - although it was, but not on the same scale (I passed it literally in the first few weeks). A much better comparison is Fallout: New Vegas, which was broken at the start to such an extent that most players simply could not break out of the first locations. Here the case is essentially exactly the same: somewhere behind all this variety of bugs and non-working elements, you can see the potential and interesting mechanics, but it seems an impossible task to get to them. In addition to the ubiquitous bugs (with animations, textures, models, and so on), the game banally produces a terrible FPS: on ultra in 1440p resolution with RTX turned off and DLSS turned off, the game produces something about 40 frames per second on my configuration. Enabling DLSS in any mode increases the frame rate to a playable 70. The funny thing is that the game practically does not spend computer resources - there is no emphasis on either the video card or the processor, which can only say one thing - the game at the current stage is not able to correctly spend computer resources.

Artificial intelligence.

The implementation of the behavior of both enemies and NPCs is striking in its mediocrity. We all understand that developers will fix bugs and do something with optimization, but everything described in the following paragraphs will be much more difficult to fix. Local artificial intelligence looks like a mockery of the industry: opponents are stupid, get stuck in the walls, do not understand how to use the environment, practically do not try to bypass the main character or tactically smoke him out. The vast majority of enemies are an excellent example of what is commonly called "dummies", that is, pieces of code without any attempt to pass for something sane. If in the Witcher 3 such a thing almost did not catch your eye, because there was nothing that opponents could use for tactical purposes, then here stupid wooden enemies look much less appropriate. For comparison: F. E. A. R was released in 2006 and its opponents still remain the standard of adequate behavior. Would you say that it was a corridor shooter, but here we have an open world and therefore the comparison is not quoted? Without problems. Here's Prey (2017) and RDR 2 (2018), both games in a relatively open world, and the first is also similar in combat system to Cyberpunk 2077. Ordinary city NPCs also fall under the General comb, but it's even sadder with them. Accidentally pushing someone on the street (double-tap the direction key) will cause everyone around you to run in terror. Do not worry, they will run not far, then either disappear when you turn away, or sit on the ground, holding your head in your hands and will sit there until you leave the location. They will not react to blows in any way, they will only shout one or two prepared phrases. Here it is, the real NextGen.

Character editor, shooting, driving cars etc.

The local character editor is a natural laugh. Two types of penises is certainly very worthy, but what about the variety in hair colors? What about different body types, chest size, shoulder width, waist circumference? Where in your beautiful innovative project is there anything to create an identity (especially in comparison with the editors of Code Vein, Soul Calibur 6 or Fallout 76)? You will rightly say that this is not the main thing for the game at all, and you will be right, but you can say that about anything. The character editor? Well, that's not the point. Shooting? Well, that's not the point. Normal car physics? Well, that's not the point. Playability? Well, that's not the point. I'm afraid to imagine what the fans think is the most important thing. The fact that the game came out at all? Indeed, thank you CD Projekt Red, that did not deceive, still releasing after three transfers your project, which did not bother to work properly. Shooting doesn't feel particularly bad or particularly good, I would call it the most ordinary. The feeling of being hit is almost no, sometimes it is not clear whether you are hitting or not, if we are talking about shooting in the chase. Driving here is a little better than in Watch Dogs Legion, but not even the level of the seven-year-old GTA V. This is the most fun - in the society of players, it is customary to scold some studios and let other studios get away with the same thing. I lead this to the fact that shooting in Cyberpunk 2077 is a plus or minus level of Farkraya, and driving cars is a plus or minus the same Watch Dogs, but where Ubisoft was scolded and decried, CD Projekt Red is praised no matter what. Human love is an extremely amazing thing.

The final part and it is also the result.

EVEN when the optimization and numerous bugs are fixed, the game will still remain just a good shooter with role-playing elements and terribly stupid non-characters. There is no talk of "game-changing, "" breaking the industry,"or" game of the decade." Behind the veil of bad optimization, there is just a very good project that cannot compare with the quality of most elements with the same RDR 2. You'll say, " well, there's Rockstar with a dozen hits under his belt, and here are poor Polish kids working for bread and salt." Once it may have been so, but only the budget of Cyberpunk exceeded the budget of RDR 2. It is not surprising, to license the song "Bad Guy", buy Keanu Reeves, rent the most expensive advertising space in new York, all this probably cost a lot of money. Even somehow it's a pity that there is no money left for the development of the game itself, which is why the product turned out to be raw and zabagovannym. And I blame it all on ambition and the desire to do better, bigger and deeper. Alas.

What's the verdict? Don't buy the game now and wait for patches. When the game is fixed, my review will change the " negative "banner to "positive", but I will not change the text, because history must remember everything. I know that there are many people who have almost no critical bugs (one of my good friends is one of them), but there is no need to risk and hope that you will get carried away and you will not meet some game-breaking moment. Cyberpunk 2077 is a real storm, and it is customary to wait out the storm in warmth, comfort and safety. Thank you to everyone who finished reading.

P.s. My English is bad so I wrote this review with the help of a translator

P.p.s. by the way, the game, as far as I know, has a good story and a lot of cool sidequests. What a pity that I can't get to them through the bugs. You can find out about this in some other review with:
