This is a very immersive and great exploration Game filled with such uniqueness and cool things to discover, yet why am I not recommending it?

Well, this lies on the technical side, I've invested 14 hours into it playing it with the VR Mod, such nice experience overall, but one problem ruined everything for me, the game crashes sometimes, well, this would not be a major "problem" because I can't tell if it was the game or the VR mod, the problem is, the crash restarts my PC, and in one of these occurrences the game crashed exactly at the "loop restart" which effectively corrupted my save, and somehow corrupted the backup save and glitched the menu.

So, nothing I tried worked atm, I lost my 14 hours and my codex, and even this being a very good game I am not willing to go through everything once more, this game relies too much on a straight and seamless playthrough to hook you, so I'll leave this as an advice, do yourself a favor and make ANOTHER local backup, and pray for the game to not crash at the said exact moment, otherwise you're done.

Nice concept, the game has an "aura" of horror around which is nice, the puppet mechanic is intriguing, and the voice acting is nice, BUT the game plays more like an interactive episode of a creepy show and less than a game, and the LACK of subtitles is a downer for me, a lot of times i'm not paying atention to the audio and just missing lines... if that's not a problem for you and its on sale i'd recommend this one.

Imagine if Lovecraft, Tolkien, Miyazaki (Souls series) and Sapkowski (Witcher series) as teenagers, once had an imaginary tabletop RPG session on a saturday evening, nothing much serious, but enough to be that of an epic tale... This sums up most of what Divinity: Original Sin 2 is.

A True RPG like never seen before, and easily one of the best games i've ever played in my almost 30y slaying monsters and saving worlds.

But even feeling like a Masterpiece, it has its flaws, like 5% at max, so let's dive into that!

Story & Lore
This and gameplay are hands down the best aspects of the game, but for story wise we need to check some points, first and foremost the lore is Awesome, but it does fall a little bit towards the endgame in terms of cohesion, and while you don't need to know about Original Sin 1, it feels like you at least need to know something about the other Divinity games, so you can feel more depth and bonds in core characters like "Lucian, the Divine" for example, also some endings would make more sense if you are attuned to Larian's storytelling, as for the characters, some are very nice with cool development and some are from bland to "really idc", just a tip but Fane and Lohse plays a bit different, i'd say they are like Nosferatu and Malkavian from Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines, if you are prone to a second playtrough or an experienced player i'd save them for that instead of your first time in Rivellon.

Graphics
The artwork, overall graphics, animations, particles, models, textures are all very good, not the masterwork even for the time of release, but it is good, the isometric is a perfect fit for the exploration and combat aspects, you really feel the world around you and everything is vivid, nostalgic enough for 90's RPGs and modern enough for an adventure playthrough.

Some models and faces are not that good, the game could use some final polishing, visually very rich but in some places this is over exaggerated, the lack of social animations like kissing, hugging and some random animations sometimes let me wondering why they didn't include them, would be a fine touch to the narrative, which sometimes just let you imagine those scenes, and i find the camera a "bit" too far for my taste, while you can zoom in/out i didn't find an option to lock distance, also some "art choices" for how to tell endings graphically didn't appeal to me that much, still like them tho, just minor issues here.

Sound
Strong point, very enjoyable, the selection of BGM and SFX are great, not many but enough, some battles are amazing on how the managed the sound to fit the narrative, like the pre-last battle and the Lady Vengeance BGM (amazing btw), also Lohse because... Lohse, still like the story this also downs a lil bit in the very, very end of the game, so there's no "time" enough to be a real issue.

Gameplay
This is what separate DOS2 from the rest of western RPGs, the whole game feels like a western J-RPG but more diverse and "real" like you can feel things happening and you influencing them to happen, but man nothing is like when you enter in combat, this ♥♥♥♥ is real, Larian gives you so many, many options and creative ways to engage battle that some of them are down right game breaking, even playing like a bersek you'll still need to think about your estrategy as the game is literally about using the enviroment the best you can, even when you're memeing or cheesing things, this is the best turn based combat i've experienced in decades, and even after you're fed up with the story you can come back and play tons of mods, arenas, multiplayer, custom campaings and more.

About the other gameplay mechanics, the craft is literally a maze and the game won't help you that much in this matter, puzzles aren't hard mostly, probably some on the endgame, quests are intuitive and gives you hints and directions without guiding you directly with compass/exact marks locations which blends old style and modern rpg aestethics, there are some bugs, on my 100+ playthrough exploring everything that i could, i found only 2 or 3 bugs but just 1 was critical (Red Prince dream arena).

Considerations
This is overall a Masterpiece, most of the players won't find any issues at all and game runs very well, not heavy and even at full price is a bargain, but this game does enter in sale very often, so you can grab with a discount, but let me say that, don't make the same mistake i did, i ignored this game when it was release cuz i didn't know about Divinity Series back then, and boy what a ride that i missed, this Epic Tale must be shared with everyone that likes RPG or at least like Story Driven games, i even saw people coming from FPS and discovering their passion for RPGs with DOS2, that says much about how amazing this game is, so if you are reading this and wondering about buying or not, just do it, DO IT!

"The louder people shout in a god's name, the duller becomes their understanding of its message." - Red Prince.

First and foremost, this is one of the greatest games i ever played, and i'm a 90's kid playing since 8-bits, also this game alone made me enjoy playing VR with a gamepad and not motion controllers.

Played in VR with Enhanced VR MOD and Performance MOD enabled.

Pros

- Great Graphics in VR.
- Amazing SFX and Music, very immersive.
- Little bit of everything, has Exploration, Crafting, Adventure, Horror, Platforming, Mecha combat, Kart and even tiny Multiplayer (capsules).
- The story is on point, is well developed and the length is perfect, well balanced achievement system.
- Even on full price totally worth the money, on sale is a bargain.
- The whole map design, itens, crafting system and world building is one of the best i ever seen on this genre.
- The vehicles are a very fun minigame by themselves.

Cons
(Yes, there is some)

- Vanilla VR version is garbage, constantly glitching, some models and textures misplaced, you'll have to MOD.
- What the game has in world building and story telling it lacks in some depth of events, this massive spaceship crashes and you won't see a single part or limb of anyone, the game has an excuse for this telling that creatures ate them, i didn't buy this, there is so much horror potency here and devs choose not to go further which is sad, also some side stories are just plain simple and leave you wanting more without delivering it.
- Some bugs can happen when walls don't load propely leaving you stuck in it.
- The crafting system is superb, but lacks utility for some blueprints.
- The game doesn't have a map which is good for immersion, but i felt like i could use some sort of cartography to unlock areas that i visited before, took so much extra time cuz i was backtracking a lot of times without knowing, and if you think a little part of a survivor guide would include mapping the vicinity without tracking your position.

Imagine that you're reading an excellent dark fantasy book, then as the story progresses it becomes more and more deep and metaphorical, to an extent of you not being able to tell if the story is the same anymore or just became too complex, but not in a bad way...

Pathologic is not for everyone, is a cruel and hard "experience" where saving one can kill another, where sometimes not doing anything is an answer and where you'll find that you can't save everyone that you like, because that's how life is right? or can you?

The game let you trive your own path IF you are able to, in a dense atmosphere of an organism-like city that somehow change everytime...

Absolute worth your time, but it needs to be played slowly and carefully.
