Despite being much fun at times, I find the combat system just not well made. The melee combat instantly gave me Witcher 3 vibes, but instead of cool looking sidesteps, all you're doing is dodge roll all over the place or block until a red (unblockable) attack appears. Even then I find parrying not intuitive as to counter you need to stop blocking first and then block at the right time. It appears to me that "unblocking" requires a bit of time before blocking again, which resulted in me getting hit even though I've been blocking for a while, as for a split second I unblocked. I might just be getting the timing wrong but I've been having no issues in similar games with this combat style. Further, it is very frustrating when getting hit by unimportant ambient life, as to regain life you have to use consumables, that only replenish by meditating, forcing all enemies to respawn. It is especially this that annoys me very much, for every mistake that I make I need to either live with it for the the rest of my expedition, or backtrack and respawn all enemies. I've given it a few hours now but I can't play it for more than an hour or two straight before it just annoys me too much. It's sad that I really like the style, the story, the feel in general, but I just cannot get used to the combat.

In the current state of GPUs and VR I couldn't ask for a better game of this genre. The gun handling is amazing - for the first time in any VR game I feel like I'm actually hitting the enemy. And as others have mentioned, the missions might appear to be dull, because they most likely are, but at least they're giving you a reason for killing all these poor people: For America!

*Update*: The developers have been bought by Facebook, I cannot and do not want to support a company with policies such as Facebook's.

Original positive review:

Beat Saber's simple design yet demanding gameplay makes it one of my favorite VR games - if not my most favorite VR game. It allows for short sessions before going to work or university and it really does work on your fitness, at least on your stamina. It's those small increments in performance and score that really make it for me: Each time you play you improve just a little more, but not too quickly to stop playing after the first week. Beat Saber is of course not a game to play the entire day, but as mentioned above, it fits perfectly for short sessions.

At a price of 19.99€ this game is a must have - especially for when you invite friends over to try it!

Update: It now even has a built in level editor!

I'll start this by saying that Elite Dangerous has the potential to be one of the best games that I've played so far. Unfortunately, it appears to me that the developers have had an entirely different vision of the game from what I had in mind. Whilst it's been a few years since the release and one cannot argue that in fact there have been great updates, - although in form of a paid expansion - it cannot be left unspoken that much of the game's content seems to be for the sole purpose of making the player spend even more hours of dull working towards a goal that in the end turns out to be either barely existent or just leads to more of said working. Whenever one stops with the grind, it becomes apparent how little the game actually offers when money is not of concern. Great views and designs are a thing, indeed, but self realization is not a thing. You de facto cannot build your own Clan, Enterprise, Organization, or whatever you may call it, and do more than chat in it. Lastly, where community interaction is wished for, it's left unanswered by the developers, or worse, just straight up ignored.

Subnautica does not support Controllers well in VR-Mode. It seems to combine inputs from all Controller-like USB-Devices, including but not limited to Joysticks, HOTAS / Throttle-Sticks and Rudder-Pedals. Since VR-Mode requires the use of a controller this game is unplayable for me in VR-Mode. I am not willing to unplug 3-5 USB-Devices to play a game that could make this a lot easier with little to no effort.

Warframe requires quite a bit of time to get into, but it's a lot of fun once you have.

In Life Is Strange™ you'll be dealing with many choices that will have an impact on the entire game and that are hard to chose - every choice seems to have it's good and bad sides. Even with your almighty power of rewinding time you will notice the difficulties of defining and doing the right thing.
The story will take your breath, pause your heartbeat and unleash your emotions even when doing just little things and it's also not the kind of story where you can guess the end a few minutes after you start.
Life is Strange also has very nice artwork and a very fitting score. It's drawn style looks good and fits well.

If you consider getting a game to relax with when you're being alone and feel like listening to an amazing and touching story, try Life Is Strange™. Steam gives you the chance to try Episode 1 before you pay the full price, so why not use it?

The controls are quite wierd. During a CAMPAIGN mission you have to rank up to buy certain weapons, which I do not manage to. I'd like to play a sniper, or a machinegunner but guess what - You have to kill a lot of enemies first and lose some XP when you die (which is normal?). Not a good thing for me.
