This is why I love indie developers so much: they managed to capture the feel of classic Ratchet and Clank while maintaining an identity of its own. It's easy to tell how much passion the team has for the series and gaming as a whole.

This game has satisfying gun play, memorable characters, great humor, beautiful locations, varied gameplay mechanics, fantastic music, a story that loves to lampshade common tropes, a decent amount of playtime for its price, and a lot of replayablility.

My only complaints are the lack of a shotgun-like weapon (the majority of the weapons are semi-automatic or automatic weapons that fire a long distance), barely any reason to use melee outside of reflecting shots and breaking crates after you obtain your first weapon (the majority of enemies wield guns or shoot at you, most enemies feel too dangerous to get close to), not being able to use weapons you unlock later in the game in earlier levels, and the game's framerate drops in 2 levels (Unknown and Armored, I have a 3050 btw). Other than that, I enjoyed my time with this game and I'm definitely doing a few more playthroughs.

With that being said, would you be surprised if I told you this is the second R&C successor about blowing up robots to come out this year?

This demo has at least 7.5 hours of content, all of it being worth it. I've played full-fledged indie games that have the same runtime and enjoyment, and I just find it insane that the devs managed to capture the same feeling with just a free demo. If this only scratches the surface of what the full game has in store, I need to know what the heck Filet Group is cooking.

Probably fish.

If the majority of the official servers are filled with robots, I'd rather just play a PvE-oriented game by developers who care.

It's Ratchet and Clank + Serious Sam 2 + Jazzpunk, it's all I could ever ask for after waiting 2 and a half years since Realms Deep 2021!

Early Access Review
When an early access game made with a budget of $10,000 is in much better condition than your latest title that hasn't received a single optimization patch after a YEAR, I think that's a sign you need to evolve as a company, GameFreak.

The VGA's aren't rigged, this game's just too slow and clever for you TikTok kiddos lol

Nah but seriously this game's a really good puzzle game, I recommend playing it for a relaxing weekend.

You'd think this game would fall under the mascot horror sub-genre and just be YouTube bait, but it surprisingly isn't. It's a genuine survival horror experience comparable to Resident Evil 7 and 8, except the horror is comedy instead.

Plus it has the funny blue puppet guy who loves Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, so it's an immediate 10/10.

Definitely worth playing, give it a shot!

Enjoy the game while you can, because I'm positive this game's gonna develop a community akin to FNF. Kinda sad in that regard honestly, because after waiting for over 5 years this game immediately became one of my favorite titles of 2023.

Well I'll be damned.

When I played Bendy and the Ink Machine, I left a negative review for its mediocre quality. I wasn't too hopeful with what Dark Revival would bring considering the merchandising, the delays, the controversy, and the fact that it was looking to be another entry in the over-saturated mascot horror genre.

When the game came out by surprise in November after 5 years, I thought maybe it should have stayed dead. And yet... I heard great things about it. At first I thought these reviews just came from a bunch of kids who don't know quality, but as I saw more and more reviews praising it, I genuinely became interested in playing it. So I did.

And it ended up being one of the best games I've played in quite some time.

This game improves on its predecessor in so many ways:
1. It wasn't an episodic release, it was released complete.
2. Bugs I've encountered were minimal, and the ones I did encounter were in no way game-breaking.
3. The atmosphere and world building were expanded upon brilliantly.
4. Combat and exploration were improved.
5. Far less fetch quests.
6. Story was much more coherent, no plot holes to be found.
7. Secrets are plentiful as always.
8. Some pretty disturbing moments, even more than the first game.

One more thing to mention: I find it extremely funny that my review on the first game had an entire section on how similar it was to BioShock, with the only thing missing from it were plasmids.

They literally give us a few plasmids to use in this game. It's fantastic.

Definitely try this game out if you're interested, it ended up being one of the best things to come out of 2022.
