This game is just plain fun. I don't play very many metroidvanias, but this is definitely a good one. It's a little more on the challenging side, but it more than makes up for that with its visual charm.

The only big hangup I have is that the controller inputs are completely messed up. It might be because I use a dualsense controller, but I did see other people having issues with xbox controllers as well. I did end up mapping the keyboard inputs to my controller and that has been working pretty well (I also uploaded it to the steam controller configuration for this game so you all can skip the painful part of sorting it out).

Easily one of my favorite games of all time. It's silly and stupid in the best way possible and exactly the type of ♥♥♥♥ I like with its "go fast, think later" structure.


Some sides of the community are absolutely rancid and the dev said some bad ♥♥♥♥ a couple years ago, but for the most part it's all good.

Don't lie. You've played TF2 before.

This game is not worth playing, even for a joke. Nearly everything interesting is put behind some sort of in-game purchase or way more grinding than any sane person should do. Even single player matches against bots require an internet connection. Heck, even looking through the menus requires an internet connection. You need to be connected to the internet with an external account to even look at the settings. I don't think I need to explain how incredibly stupid that is.
This all is made much worse with the fact that this is probably one of the best platform fighters for non-switch owners. Don't waste your time with this, just buy Rivals of Aether or Smash Bros. if you can.

Soldier TF2 explodes several hundred farms

Powerful and trippy with a heaping helping of vaporwave aesthetic and memes. This game is a new favorite of mine.

So bizarre yet simple it's a must-play for anybody who likes strange games.

After playing this game, I understand why it's held in such high esteem, and has been so for years. The atmosphere and sense of exploration blend perfectly, feeling serene and peaceful one moment and horrific and disorienting the next.
It is a phenomenal example of the idea that anybody can make a game, being made by one person on his lonesome. In fact, this game partially inspired me to make games of my own (coincidentally, with the very program used to make this game: RPGMaker 2003).
I can only hope that the publisher will continue to put up RPGMaker classics, though it may just be wishful thinking to hope that the others will also be free.

I was above average in math before playing. Now I have a complete understanding of quantum physics.

In all seriousness, it is a phenomenal game. Definitely worth checking out. The story is nonsensical (in the best way possible), and the game has a ton of playstyles, and it never sticks to the same one for longer than a few minutes.
