Gameplay and mechanics are pretty solid, outside of a lack of endgame content. Endgame is grinding and perfecting what you already have, but building mechanics are a blast to toy around with, so I've never really noticed lack of endgame until I have a gigantic base complex, and zombies are no longer a problem.

Lots of things coming with the release of A17 to fix that though. And I expect lots more good content from TFP.
All in all, if you like survival games, give it a try.
