Да, с сюжетом там сложновато. Ground Zeroes начинается там, где заканчивается MGS: Peace Walker, который в свою очередь продолжает MGS3 (а также Portable Ops). Но в GZ есть краткий пересказ предыдущих частей, включая некоторые важные аудио-дневники из PW. А если переключиться на японскую озвучку и английские субтитры, то можно послушать ещё и сценки из Peace Walker Drama CD о знакомстве Снейка и Миллера, которых нет в версии с английской озвучкой.
Но геймплей там всё же выдвинут на передний план и он очень хороший, да. :)
