This game just makes me smile. I can't help it, and you won't be able to either, should you choose to play it. It's just one of those quirky, funny, simple games. The basic premise of it is light vs. dark. The protagonists (a group of cool little plants) go on a quest to defeat the evil spiders, which are sucking the life out of plants everywhere. The plot is quite simple, but all the little details thrown in throughout the world will entice you to explore more. This is a game for all ages, literally. My parents and I both played it and loved it. You do not have to be a "game player" to love this game. Its easy-to-master point-and-click gameplay is suitable for players of all skill levels. The length of this game is really based on how you want to play it, on how much you want to see of the amazing world that these plants inhabit. The soundtrack and animation are both top-notch. This is a game that will leave you feeling uplifted and happy. Need I say more?

Thomas Was Alone is one of those games that really takes you on a journey. And a memorable one, at that. The story is told entirely through narration (and great narration, at that), since none of the characters can speak. This choice on the part of the developers was pure genius. The wording and the voice of the narrator really allowed me to connect with the plotline and with those lovable little shapes. That fact alone is worth repeating: This game actually gave me a personal connection with characters that were nothing more than geometrical shapes. Any game that can do that is truly worth playing. Not only that, but the ending makes me cry, every time I play it. Maybe I'm a wimp, but I think that the ending is really that good. From the beginning, when we meet Thomas (who was alone), to the breath-taking end, this game is truly a journey, one that will leave you in awe of how such a simple story with such simple characters could leave such a profound impact.

This game is simply amazing. Sure, it has great gameplay and many different gamemodes for players of all kinds. But it's even more than that. The community is simply amazing. The people who play this game are as varied as its gamemodes. Compared to triple A games, where everyone "parties up" and plays competitively, this game puts a whole new spin on the concept of gaming with others. Imagine you are in a room with three other players in game. You all have guns. In any other game, you would instantly shoot each other. Some people would rage quit; others would cuss and scream into the mic. This is not so with Garry's Mod. In this game, the people would talk to each other (either via text or mics) and create their own scenario that has nothing to do with the way the game is meant to be played. They would mess around, have some laughs, and make friends. It is no longer simply about the game objectives. It is COMMUNITY. It is about FRIENDSHIP. If nothing more, it is about LAUGHS. No matter what you look for in a game, this game has it all. If you want to be competitive, you can be (though I don't recommend it). If you want to laugh and make friends, this game is the absolute best in the industry. Garry's Mod, simply put, is COMMUNITY.
