Thomas Was Alone is one of those games that really takes you on a journey. And a memorable one, at that. The story is told entirely through narration (and great narration, at that), since none of the characters can speak. This choice on the part of the developers was pure genius. The wording and the voice of the narrator really allowed me to connect with the plotline and with those lovable little shapes. That fact alone is worth repeating: This game actually gave me a personal connection with characters that were nothing more than geometrical shapes. Any game that can do that is truly worth playing. Not only that, but the ending makes me cry, every time I play it. Maybe I'm a wimp, but I think that the ending is really that good. From the beginning, when we meet Thomas (who was alone), to the breath-taking end, this game is truly a journey, one that will leave you in awe of how such a simple story with such simple characters could leave such a profound impact.
