I don't like Musou style games, but I like Berserk.

The gameplay fits very well with the story but the animations aren't that great. The graphics are OK for this style of game.
It's a bit sad to say that this is probably the best/most polished Berserk game out there, but I can recommend it if you're a fan of Berserk.

Most of the time great fun, sometimes rage inducing.
The amount of minigames and the variety between them is lacking at the moment. In order to be worth full price, they definitely have to deliver a content update during the first month.

If they deliver nothing but new cosmetics by the end of August, I'll come back and change this review to negative.

EDIT: Well, nothing's on the horizon for the end of the month. Too bad.
The game started with not enough content and is already stale.

Amazing game for the deranged gamer.

You don't have to kill anyone to finish the game but actually you do.
Stick a gun up a cat's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and use it as a Silencer? You don't have to, but you can.
A game like that could never be made nowadays, but actually they do.

Bonus: Piss in your own mouth like Bear Grylls.

Owning this game is my library's biggest regret.

Sometimes I tune into streamers who still play this game to see that nothing of value has changed over the past few years.
I understand that there are some players with thousands of hours invested into this game, but I don't think this makes it a game YOU should play.
Some people work their a horrible job for years without quitting and some gamers are the same. That's all there is to it.

This game has no redeeming qualities. Everything you might like in this game can be found in many similar games who do an overall better job.

Don't buy it.

I started this game with a friend because we wanted to experience an ARPG similar to Diablo where you could play together and feel good about it.

At first we had lots of fun, I mean LOTS! We couldn't believe that a game with so many different mechanics and such addictive gameplay was completely free to play! We were hooked and played every day until we finished all the Acts and got ready for the endgame. So exciting!
It took us a while, actually a bit too long if I think back now, to realize that this game turns into absolute garbage once you finish the Story.
That's a big problem though, because I consider questing and leveling to be mere appetizers in games like these.

The driving factor for us was to enjoy the endgame TOGETHER and WITH OTHER PLAYERS.
But you can't do that in PoE. You see: Nobody wants to play with you. In fact, they consider it such a hassle that you'll have to pay them in order to group up.
Why is that? The simple answer is: Because the gamedesign is terribly flawed.

A longer, but not at all complete answer:
  • All loot is shared between players
  • Playerdriven economy is not regulated and fosters greed to pick up every single item
  • Playing the market is more lucrative than playing with other people
  • People go as far as recording gameplay and harassing players who have picked up items
  • Public games are often marked with "NO LOOT/NO ATTACK/FOLLOW LEADER OR KICK"

This small list of issues alone is enough reason to dump this game and never look back. It's just sad that it took us over 100h to realize. Hope and trust should not be put in gaming companies. At least I have learned a lesson.

What I also realized, is the fact that this company isn't making a game.
No: They are making their best effort to provide an experience which is just addicting enough so weak minded people spend HUNDREDS of Euros on cosmetics and even features which should be completely free (transmogs for example).
I am amazed by that kind of relentless moneymaking strategy.

The only winning move is not to play.

## EVENT PASS ##
I immediately bought the event pass because I thought it was a nice addition to the game.
Finally I could enjoy getting nice items without having to gamble, but by actually playing instead.

...or so I thought.

Those €10 will get a low-skill player like me nothing but a grind he can't win. The event takes only 30 days and there are 30 levels (400xp each). That means you would need to get at least 1 level every day in order to get your money's worth. And yes: Since I paid for it I am at least entitled to a very good chance of getting all the items.

400xp/day don't sound that much, but most of the missions reward only 40xp. A "Premium" User who purchased the Event Pass does get a bonus to daily XP from just playing, but that bonus is laughable at best. Instead of the standard 80xp/day, we should be able to get 400xp/day in the same amount of time it takes non-premium users to get 80xp.

I don't understand why they need to milk PC players in such a disgusting way. These "pay to have a chance" tactics should be reserved for their mobile version.

I'm ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ MAD.
I thought this event pass will push PUBG to the next level, but instead it died in the red zone while using a bandage.

At the time of writing I only have 7 hours played time.
In one session.

Yes, it really is THAT good!

When I saw it on Twitch and heard that this game was made by 1 single man, I was intrigued. As a fellow Developer, I am dreaming of making my own game one day, too. I've got the coding part down...but holy bejeezus! Those graphics! The music and SFX! I have a long, long way to go, but ConcernedApe showed me that it IS possible!

Sir, you've made a truly fantastic game. Hopefully one day I'll have acquired a broad skillset like yours and be able to craft an experience like that.

Gameplay 10/10
SFX 10/10
Music 10/10
Graphics 11/10

I love that you included Dungeon-crawling. It's like "Here's your cake AND ANOTHER ONE ON TOP" :)
