This is probably one of the best games I've ever played. I adore it.
I don't think I've ever had a game have character dialogue and plot realizations so heavy to have my heart rip itself out and leave me in tears multiple times quite like this one.

Very addictive and relaxing.
Surprisingly, still pretty relaxing even when my settlement is starving and I have no idea what to do about it

I hadn't really followed this game after purchasing it in '20 on sale and having it sit in my backlog for 2 years.

Apparently, a whelming majority of fans of this game seem to really enjoy sexualizing the main character and talking about the kid's underwear... and a quick glance at the official twitter should tell you all you really need to know about where the developer tastes lie.

Had it just simply been a cute soulslike game it would've likely been fine, but the photos on their twitter and comments on there and here I've read are gross, and completely dropped my interest in bothering to try the game. Would not have supported such behavior if I had known prior.

The art design and exploration aspects are fantastic. The sound design is great, and anything else involving the vanity of the game is very well made. It's very addictive, and the difficulty options are noticeably different. Being able to upgrade most items to late-game quality is something I wished that more games did.

Previously I had a negative review of the game, but I think the game has definitely improved over time and deserves a newer one.

This game is so good. It's right up there with the best as a solid co-op fps, with emphasis on exploration and gathering resources and fights sprinkled in between.
Each class offers something different, and you can really feel a difference when one or two classes aren't present, while also still being able to perform the mission in each class's own way if alone, or with one or two other people.

Very adorable game. There's a very slight town building aspect tied in with the potion crafting and world exploration, that really helps you feel like you're a little more than just a potion crafting witch. It also has a lot of interesting mechanics that you get to experience with Virgil and his sassy, bratty wearer, Ellie.
There are several typos and grammatical errors, and also currently feels a little bit on-rails with it's progression.. but seeing as it's still pretty early in it's development, I would say that it's able to be overlooked for now given the noticeable effort and content that's been done so far.

My impressions after about 600 hours of play:
I'm going to choose to omit most of the ♥♥♥♥ I've seen most other players talk about (Mari Shop, upgrade rng, whatever else I can't think of) and instead focus on any other things I personally find distasteful.

It's essentially an on-rails, mobile/solo gaming experience. You will spend a very large majority of your time doing content alone, on multiple characters a day, hitting the daily limits you can with each character.

Partying for anything aside from abyss dungeons (where you absolutely have to) is potentially unhelpful and may even make dailies take longer than if you were to do them alone due to some content's scaling. Questing kicks you from your parties every once in awhile, so it's a hassle to group up for that too (not that you really need to).

Your personal preferences may vary towards the horizontal content like collecting seeds and leaves. I personally found it extremely enjoyable up until you begin to require daaaays worth of dailies to collect certain seeds via unas tasks, and any other things hidden behind any 15-30 day daily walls. Playing with alt characters alleviate the sheer volume of horizontal content behind dailies, but it got to a point for me where I felt as if I never had time to do anything I found fun because I was busy doing content on alts.

There's also several extremely obnoxious systems put in place, like being kicked from the game for being afk (which isn't really nearly as bad as the absolutely DISGUSTING amount of time the game takes to close and re-open) and gender-locked classes in general.

As of this date, most fashion is not only gender but ALSO base class-bound too, which is just straight up ridiculous imo. Vanity options in this game are flat out cruel design-wise, from dying one part of clothing setting the other colorable sections to white (making you use more dye), to stronghold's housing furniture being abysmally expensive for how little you often get.
Even outside of the realm of vanity content, it feels like there's a lot of content that tries to nickel and dime you as much as possible.

I think it has a very good foundation for an mmo, but it also really could use more QoL and less poorly thought out or downright abusive implementations.
