Played it for over 7 hours - just can't really get into it.

It's not that there's anything all that wrong with it, I just can't get into it. Will keep trying I suppose.

It's like Civ 5 with magic and monsters. Seriously, that's pretty much all it is.
And all it needs to be really.

A little lacking in depth compared to Civ 5, and too focussed on combat - but yeah, still a pleasant little title this one.

Watched this game and played a bit back in 1998/1999 or whenever it was. Didn't fancy it. Too hard and frustrating.

Watched my friend play it a year ago, going from mission to mission. Still didn't fancy it, looked too hard, too much saving and reloading.

Bought it on a whim a few months back, and patched it up, started playing it. Saving and reloading a fair bit, but loving every minute of it.

Awesome human on zombie action, can play this for hours

Weakest out of the Dawn of War series, more due to lack of story and new innovation as compared to previous titles, than anything else.

But hell, it's still good.

And for number of races for multiplayer/skirmish, and mod compatibility - this is the one you need.

A little short, but a damn fine addition - as always, the story with the Dawn of War series is top-knotch Games Workshop material, and the gameplay leaves little to be desired.

A mix between Grand Strategy and historical RTS.

And no-one's ever pulled it off so perfectly before or since.

When I first started up the game I was disappointed it wasn't a Sim City clone.

Now though, I'd be thoroughly dissapointed if it was.

WW2 Grand Strategy at it's finest. It's hard to change the course of history, compared to some other games of this type - but it's possible.
What else to say - hundreds of different types of authentic WW2 units, events, research tree, leaders. So many different tactics and strategies you can adopt.

C.O.R.E. Mod is highly recommended, it just makes everything better, expands the game, adds a ton more historical events, makes all the unit and research options, combat system more authentic.

It's like one of those Grand Strategy games (Medieval: Total War, Europa Universalis, etc...); except with about 20 different civilizations/races, several hundred types of mythical monsters and more ordinary units, 3 different distinct 'ages' where all the civilizations are different, a very rich backstory, thousands of different types of items, artifacts (full RPG/equip system basically for any hero), hundreds of spells and dozens of ruins to uncover/explore.

If you ever played those types of games and enjoyed it - well simply put you'll enjoy this one even more.
