What a beautifully made game. I love everything about it. The story, the characters and voice-acting, the music, the art, the gameplay, it's all amazing. Every little detail about this game is so polished. If you like the genre and if you like the trailers, pick up this game, you won't regret it.

TL;DR: Food is unbalanced. Modders are doing a better job with this game than the devs are.

I've been a long-time fan of this game. I love survival games through and through. That being said, the state of this game is atrocious. Development should not be going as slow as it is. I don't know if it's the fault of the devs, or the fault of the studio, and at this point I don't really care.

I returned to the game to do a vanilla run-through, the way I used to do about 2 years ago. It's extremely difficult to do now. Why? Food. Water, isn't an issue. It's just food. My food was full when I started my journey. 1.4 kilometers later, I'm starving to death. Fine. I find something to stave off death. 2 more kilometers, same thing. Cool. I find stuff to plant a garden, that'll help me through the night, right? Wrong. Plant, travel, come back to the garden while starving to death, eat 20 tomatoes, and die from starvation. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if I ate as many tomatoes as would fit in my stomach, and then sat on my ass next to a campfire, I wouldn't starve to death. I guess it would be too meta to allow tomatoes to be real food.

I think the main issue I have with that whole situation is that you wouldn't starve to death after a single day of running around. You would be weak if you had nothing to eat, but in my case, my character ate well over 2000 calories of food in a 12 hour period. It sounds odd to complain about the food system in a game, but food is one of the pillars of survival in this game. No matter how late game you are, you still need to find your next meal, or you're as good as dead. I understand making the game difficult, but making it artificially difficult is lazy, and not fun for the player.

Fantastic game, one of my new favourites, I'm excited to see it grow

This is a really well made game. I'm thoroughly enjoying it, it's beautiful, the story is loveable, and I think this game is a fantastic take on the old series

I love this game already, and can't wait to see where the devs will take it. It's thrilling, beautiful, and a challenge. If you're a fan of survival games, this game is definitely for you.
