Driving-wise, it's by far the most realistic game out of the Codemasters F1 franchise. It's no longer a "drive however you want" and "use every part of the track and lose nothing" game, like it was in previous ones. For example: clipping grass edges can really screw your lap of you're not careful (although it's still not enough). Also, you can no longer bump into a very steep kerb (like the ones at Baku's Sector 3) and get away with it. Loss of power due to engine overheating is another cool factor that I see very few sims feature it.

Although there are still very arcady issues, like no dynamic track rubbering (it's a programmed progressive rubbering, instead), no track temp simulation, very slow snap oversteer and the fact you can use the engine brake to slow the car in downshifts in a ridiculously exaggerated way with very little consequences, it's the first one I've actually used mainly as an online game (for league racing), rather than to focus solely on career mode.

I have lots of fun with it and more people will to if they try it.

One of the best games I've ever played. Definitely worth the money.
