The game is good so far. Most of the reviews are complaining about either bugs, which has been mostly resolved already, or difficulty. For The King has always been a difficult game and that's part of the charm. You'll learn and get better as you play.

Robot Wants It All is a compilation of six great self-contained Metroidvania platformer games. Each one has vastly different gameplay mechanics from the others, but they all begin with you starting with almost nothing, sometimes including no jumping power. You must make your way through the level, ideally as quick as possible since the clock is ticking, hunting down the power-ups you need to progress while dodging (or shooting if you can yet) enemies in your way. Just like any Metroidvania, you will run into sections where you need to hunt down another ability or item in order to progress through them.

It's worth noting there's a lot here for people who like to unlock their way through a new game -- you start off with just one basic game and eventually unlock the other games one at a time through the in-game Shop using coins (no $$$!) earned from how well you do in a level. There's also harder level remixes of every game, mutators to change the gameplay, different robot characters to play as, and some really fun side games to unlock.

The Robot Wants games are especially well suited for players who like to re-play over and over to get the best speed-run time or least amount of kills and deaths. Personally speaking, I am pretty terrible skill-wise at these sort of games so I was really only able to do speed-runs on the Easy maps of the games (props for those maps existing for the less fortunate like myself!), but there are some pretty long and difficult Remix maps to try running for those up to the challenge.

I'd recommend Robot Wants It All to anyone who enjoys traversing through a platforming level unlocking new power-ups and abilities to make it to the end, but I especially recommend it to those who love to speed-run and set new high scores as much as they can!

The true successor to RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 we've been waiting over a decade for, and it's even from the same development team.
