Amazing game with a whole lotta replay value

Hi, I am seeing a lot of interest being garnered by people here and they're wondering whether or not they should buy this game.

Well with 35 hours under my belt I will explain to you whether you should or not

The thing is as I realized a little late that this is no ordinary AAA multi-player shooter. This is a NICHE game.

For the uninitiated niche means - a specialized segment of the market for a particular kind of product or service.

So now I will describe what niche('s) this game targets and if you fit you should buy

1. Do you love camping? Do you play video games to stare at a wall all the time, do you hate walking in game to kill someone. Well this game suits your niche. Get this game because the server is full of people like you. It's always fun sitting in one building for the rest of the match before you realize no one wants this clue and have to extract.

2. Do you miss the olden days of gaming? When you had to pay for the game your internet and Xbox live just to play Halo online and it just lagged and disconnected all the time. Well this game IS for you. With servers so potato they drop packages like Agent 47 drops his victims, fast silently and taking no blame, you'll need to pay for a VPN just to avoid this problem, and the ping is still abhorrent.

3. Were you an r6 fan before operation health? Do you like the hitbox surprise mechanic? Do you like hitting headshots but not having the game register? Do you like saying get gud to people for no reason? Well this game IS for you. With the headshot hitbox the size of the pumpkin but because of the aforementioned packet loss it still doesn't grant you a kill, and every time someone complains you can just say get gud.

4. Do you like curtains? Yes you though you wouldn't see this here, but the game requires it's niche audience to not have sunlight in the room. With a game so ahead of it's time they forgot to add a brightness slider. If you like to play in the complete dark and have already accepted your inevitable blindness. This game Is for you.

5. Are you tired of other game companies helping you when you have a problem? Are you tired of tech support helping you fast and efficient? Fear not Hunt : Nichedown is here. With a Dev team so novice they still haven't figured out what's wrong with their servers

6. Do like playing with cheaters? Do you like an anti cheat system that does not work? Well then what are you doing here? Buy this game already

7. Do you like browsing the steam forums, do you like denying problems that you are not getting but someone else might? Well you don't have to buy the game to engage the community I suppose, but someone might figure out you're just having fun, best buy the game before doing that and again this community is for you

8. Do you miss 2007,when crysis came out and you could not get decent fps if you could run it at all? Well fear not, your i7s and 1080s will cry out for help when they can't touch 60fps and you will have the same feeling as you did 12 years ago

At the end it's a niche game, the first of it's kind it targets a niche, and you can feel the niche every second you play the game.

Please don't complain about the problems because it's ultimately niche not a bug. It's a niche.


Also the mod team on steam forums silences anyone who wants to talk about bugs or their possible fixes, they wish to maintain the attitude that the game is perfectly fine and the servers are top tier, (you will see better servers from an indie game, hell you can get better servers for $5 a month and the first 4 months will be free)

At this time I cannot recommend you get this game, and I don't think it's gonna live for any long anyway, the player base is shrinking everyday, best spend your money elsewhere


Edit : The game is out of early access now and it's more broken than ever, even aiming feels like playing a game from 1999.

Please don't get this game, save your money, I was unfortunate enough to buy this game a month earlier, before the announced the new "aesthetic changes" which is basically censorship in accordance to the authoratarian monarch of China, and it's being shoved down everyone's throat.

Unlike CS or Dota, they are not making a different version of the game for China, but they're keeping one "global version" and making changes to that, in effect now China's censorship is going to affect you halfway around the world, not only is this unacceptable but this is Ubisoft cheating me and all other players, I paid for a a very different game, there are a lot of cosmetic items people paid for which are now going to be censored. Who knows if Ubisoft will do this again along the line and cheat you of your money.

Stay away from the game, the developer is more focused on s***ing on it's current playerbase to appease on that does not even exist right now. They'll do it again for the $$$
